PGA Tour 2K21 is adding a brand new way to play – and Battle Royale fans will be familiar with the format. Multiplayer mode Divot Derby will see 20 players teeing off at the same time, but you’ll all be trying to beat each other to the cup. “Time is of the essence and the pressure is on, as players fight to the finish on every hole,” the blurb explains. “The first golfer to make it to the ninth and final hole wins! Players who get knocked out early can watch the rest of the competition in Spectator Mode.”
This is a free update, so you don’t need to purchase any expansion packs or anything like that – if you own the game then you just need to ensure you install the latest patch and you can participate. It sounds like a fun addition to us – we’ll definitely be checking this out. Remember, the game’s also hosting a new season of content right now, which includes various cosmetics and clubs for those who pick up the Clubhouse Pass.

So it’s basically like that new mode shown off in the Mario Golf trailer?
@nessisonett Very similar I guess. There was a mode a little bit like this in Everybody's Golf as well, although that was team-based and more like a race.
Sounds fun to me.
@nessisonett My thoughts exactly. Seems fun though, I have the game on Steam so I’ll give it a go when it launches.
Divot Derby is such a fitting name.
So speed golf lol
Most things get battle royale nowadays such that it wouldn't be surprising if Fortnite guy came to Smash.
