Anticipated LEGO title LEGO Star Was: The Skywalker Saga was aiming for a Spring 2021 release on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, but it's been delayed to an unspecified date. The news comes via developer TT Games, which states that it simply needs "more time".
Given the scope of The Skywalker Saga — it covers every mainline Star Wars movie in one open world game, with over 300 playable characters — the delay doesn't come as a huge surprise, especially when you consider the current climate of this recovering industry.
TT Games says that it'll share "updated launch timing as soon as possible", so we should hear something more concrete in the relatively near future.

Dang another delay to a game i was looking forward towards.
I know obviously Covid is making things difficult but do we think developing on the new platforms is more difficult than was expected too? We’ve had honestly quite a lot of PS5 versions that run worse than the PS4 versions or just plain create more problems.
Seems weird that such a seemingly simple game has had so many delays. Of course a lot of Lego games are bugfests (I never did beat the final boss of Pirates of the Caribbean because it crashed every single time), so more development time can hopefully only help. I'm really looking forward to this though.
@TrueAssassin86x is this because of COVID!?
Just a reminder that this game was announced at E3 in June 2019 w/ a release date of "2020", so nearly 2 years ago and 9 months before Covid hit, and a release date of "Oct 20, 2020" was shown in a YT video last May 2020 before being removed. So this isn't all Covid's fault, it obviously was shown too soon w/ dates just being pulled out of someone's behind. Like way too many games these days. 😝

Wow, usually Lego games release like rabbit droppings, fast and frequent.
Am I the only one who thinks this game has been finished for quite a while but they just haven’t released it because they’re actually evil? 🤣
Wow, 2022's gonna be a monster
@nessisonett I think it's less the matter of games are harder to develop on the ps5 but more the fact developers have to optimise games for 2 new console (ps5 and series x) and when it comes to crunch time developers will put more effort into making sure the game runs well on the platforms that most people will play on (last gen consoles). I would have to imagine once developers drop last gen consoles support we should see more ambitious things on new gen.
Ah s here we go again
This sucks but at least we have official conformation of the delay.
I feel them, it takes me yonks to build lego too.
@nessisonett Wait... What game runs worse on PS5 than PS4?
Always wait until LEGO games hit $19 anyway. No rush.
B I G surprise - LOL
That's a shame! Looks like I'll have to take advantage of some of the other Lego games currently on sale on PS Store! DC Villians looks good fun.
@Agramonte What about when they are 20? Is that just painful for you?
@HMazzy111 I got DC Villains on Switch and its really good, tons of characters, fun story and a great all star voice cast.
@nessisonett
The PS5 launch was brought forward by a year. That's probably the cause of that
@HMazzy111 @Agramonte Same here, I always wait for $20 sales or cheaper.
LEGO games almost always drop FAST in price, like within a year usually.
@KidBoruto I do only ever buy Lego games on sale, HOWEVER, this would've been the exception to the rule. It seems they've put alot of effort into this one and done some things differently. Plus I love Star Wars!
@HMazzy111 I also love Star Wars and Lego, but doesn't change the fact this will be $20 a year after release.
I can only justify buying day one if it's a game I am worried about having the plot/story spoilered, like Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart or Kena: Bridge of Spirits.
Something is really messed up at TT games. Not a peep of information since the news of the delay. There are rumors of the game being cancelled, talk of "bugs" being rampant, and it seems a ton of people over at TT Games are leaving the studio
I'm not sure if that has anything to do with Skywalker Saga but it's definitely setting off the alarm bells for me.
