Well well well, what do we have here? Ahead of Falcom's big 40th anniversary event tomorrow (or tonight, depending on your time zone), it looks like the Epic Games Store has leaked some major Western announcements.
The PC storefront confirms that four Trails titles will be localised. This includes the two Crossbell games, which were recently remastered for PlayStation 4 in Japan. The official English names for the adventures of Lloyd Bannings are Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure. The former is slated for 2022, while the latter is down for 2023.
Then there's Trails into Reverie — the localised name for the massive RPG that takes place after Trails of Cold Steel IV. This is the latest mainline title in the series, and wraps up several nation-sized storylines with a gigantic cast of characters. This is listed as another 2023 release.
And finally, we have The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails. This one's something of a spinoff, and has little to do with the core Trails series. It was originally a PSP game, but this is a full remaster. Again, this is a 2023 release according to Epic.
Now here's the thing: we don't have confirmation of whether these games are coming to PlayStation. Fortunately, we'll know for sure soon enough, since the aforementioned Falcom concert is happening within the next 24 hours.
Right now we can only speculate, but we don't see why these games wouldn't come to PS4. All the Cold Steel titles are available on Sony's last-gen system, and NIS America is still the publisher. If any of these games are confirmed for PlayStation, we'll be sure to keep you posted.
It's also worth noting that the 2022 and 2023 release windows may only apply to the PC versions of these games. Previous titles published by NIS America have come to PS4 months before their PC ports, but again, we'll have to wait and see.

I am beyond pumped for these games
What about 1 and 2 for switch? I would have thought they would be a priority.
Time to cry in the corner. Those poor poor fans have been working on the translation of Ao for years at this point and it just came out in May.
If it's coming to Epic, it's obviously coming to PS4 too, no need for a confirmation.
It's probably inevitable for PS4 and Switch. Still kinda weird how Switch is still missing the first two Cold Steel games in English though
@TheFrenchiestFry I love how there are still people defending that situation. Who actually played Cold Steel 4 despite it tying into not just 1 and 2, but the Sky and Crossbell games as well. It irritates me to no end because no YouTube video could accurately get you up to speed with those games, they have a ridiculous amount of text.
I've just recently got Trails of Cold Steel IV. I can't even remember what happened in 3 if I'm honest. It's like when you've had a year between Game of Thrones seasons and you start a new one and you're bewildered. Hang on... who are these? Weren't they a baddie? No, wait they turned in the third one. Because of that thing that happened in the first one.
I don't know.
I'm excited to get more games in the franchise that make no sense to me though.
Thank you NISAmerica a thousand times over!!!! I'm so happy I could cry!😂
Sweet. Can't wait. Lets hope they do come to PS4/5!
Damn NISA takes their time… There sure is some legal reason, but still I can’t understand why they don’t simply pay for the Geofront fan translations of the Crossbell games. Surely it would be cheaper than doing the localisation over again. 🤦
@MemSec The only problem with just using the Geofront translations is that the chest messages are a whole thing where fans sent in their own messages and such. I can’t see them allowing that although it’s great fun.
@nessisonett
I presume the Geofront team had some legal documents that prevents the submitting fans to have any claims regarding those. Although I haven’t finished the game yet, but I can’t recall anything triggering in these messages. Even if they removed the feature, much would not be lost, even though I agree, many of them are funny.
@MemSec
They might also be doing English VO for these releases too which would take quite a bit of work as well.
Excellent news. But RIP any free time when these get released
Loving this series so far.
Hope it comes on playstation.
Played Cold Steel 1 to 4 with my kids. Best series of JRPGs I've ever played. Played them one after the other over 9 months or so. I've been ordered to get these ones if they arrive on ps4!
I will definitely play these. On PlayStation if possible. But if it’s only available on the epic game store I guess I will be downloading the epic game store.
at bare minimum better be on steam. i've played every game bar zero/azure and newest one. big love for these games
