Well, that was that, then. The debate will rage on regarding E3’s ongoing relevancy, but while this was an unquestionably weak show from a PlayStation persuasion, we did still see a sturdy selection of upcoming PlayStation 5 and PS4 games. The question is: which was your favourite and why? We’re including announcements and trailers from Summer Game Fest in this – we’ve got to make up the numbers, after all – and our full shortlist is embedded below.
The criteria for inclusion is that the game has to be coming to a PlayStation platform – no Starfield, then, sadly – and also had to receive a new trailer or gameplay demo during one of last week’s streams. That means we’re not including, for example, Deviation Games’ project, as while it announced a publishing partnership with Sony – well, it didn’t actually have anything to show, did it? You need to pick three titles in the poll.
We’ll close voting on Friday, 18th June at 12PM BST and the game with the most votes will take the not-so coveted prize. What are you voting for? Let us know below.
Thanks for participating. Voting is now closed.

Probably GotG, Super Monkey Ball and Ace Attorney. Despite probably getting Monkey Ball and Ace Attorney on Switch instead.
I think my three favourite things were Battlefield 2042, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, and crucially Riders Republic. Really excited to play all of those, and they're coming out relatively soon.
Honourable mention to Elden Ring, which I'm really looking forward to next year.
Guardians, and Far Cry 6 are it for me from that list. A couple of their games will probably get elsewhere like Dodgeball Academia, Just Dance 22. Wonderland is intriguing but we still really don't know what kind of game it is.
Tales of Arise, Rider's Republic and Battlefield 2042 for me!
Elden Ring & Eiyuden Chronicle I'm keeping an eye on also.
My favorites are ones I wont play on PS5: Diablo 2R, Axiom Verge 2. But GotG and Avatar look good for PS.
What an awful, awful show although amusing to read comments on other sites arguing over the merits of who 'won' E3 or didn't. I thought people didn't like the whole console war thing?
🤔
GotG for sure, fan of the Avatar film so that has potential and Death Stranding Director's Cut although really hoping (naively perhaps) that existing PS4 copies will receive a free upgrade.
Something else that's particularly amusing is Howard's claim that no longer releasing Bethesda games on PS is a good thing for gamers. What a crock of *****. Some people in gaming, and that goes for gamers as well as company execs, really ought to be involved in politics!
Hades and some other two... but honestly, my most anticipated game is "12 minutes" which, sadly, I'll be playing via game pass on xbsx.
Elden Ring is the only one that really matters to me
Guardians was the only game I got excited for. What an extremely poor showing by Sony. Nintendo’s was average but blew them out of the water.
Ngl, not an awful lot interested me. Probably Elden Ring, Project Zero and the LRG physical announcements
Halo Infinite would be my 2nd favorite of my top 3 but since it's not on the list with it being Xbox exclusive I picked Far Cry 6. Elden Ring comes in 3rd with Plague Tale definitely being my favorite announcement of the show I absolutely cannot wait to play that!
Gotta say the games I'm MOST looking forward arent on PS at all - Breath of The Wild 2 / Forza 5 / Starfield and Metroid Dread
Looking forward to Sonys announcements though !
Man, looking at the list all out like this, it's amazing that there isn't even one game I'm really excited for. I'll give it to Sherlock Holmes Chapter One as the open world looks pretty nice to explore and it probably needs the vote.
EDIT: I needed to choose two more, so I gave them to Elden Ring and Atomic Heart.
Diablo 2 resurrected, Back 4 Blood, and Elden Ring are my next 3 new release purchases so that made this an easy choice!
Still need to buy FFVII. Mass Effect Trilogy, and Ratchet & Clank.
RIP wallet 😬
@marnelljm Not hard to do considering Sony weren't even there.
😝
Nothing shown is as good as either Ratchet and Clank or Horizon Forbidden West, unless you're into driving games and 2.5D platformers that by now really ought to have been consigned to history.
👍
Eiyuden Chronicle is the only game that appealed to me. Such a bad E3
It's a tie between Salt & Sacrifice and Elden Ring for me.
I loved what was shown of both of those.
After picking A Plague Tale Requiem, I’m struggling to pick anything. That’s how little I’m excited for.
Went for GoG and Avatar as they have potential but definitely need to see/know more on both.
Elden Ring, Guardians of the Galaxy and Death Stranding Director's Cut.
As a Death Stranding fan the directors cut is definitely a must for me. Quite like the look of Salt and Sacrifice although I haven't played Salt and Sanctuary yet.
@AK4tywill Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One should be pretty good. I enjoy those games. I'm sure it'll have its fair share of jank, but I'm excited to see more.
A Plague Tale : Requiem
Avatar : Frontiers of Pandora
Jurassic World Evolution 2
👌
People, don't forget Trek to Yomi! That together with guardians and fatal frame for me personally. But seeing all things listed here sure makes me glad to also have a switch.
Guardians of the Galaxy, Avatar and Tiny Tina's Wonderland probably caught my eye the most from this list...
S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2
Looks really good and a suitable fallout replacement for those playstation players
Some good choices there, but Hades to PS5 is what I wanted, and Hades to PS5 is what I got!
Great selection of games but for me its:
The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes
Two Point Campus
Riders Republic
Some that could be classed as smaller titles, but they also are doing something different and potentially really fun
@Col_McCafferty It seems like driving games are still very popular, no?
Eiyuden Chronicle (already backed on Kickstarter), Evil Dead, and Project Zero.
Atomic Heart all the way!
I pick tales of arise, river city girls 2, and bloodrayne betrayal 😃
And on another console (switch), metroid dread & advance wars 1-2 reboot camp (another wayforward games).
Any third party game that ends up on GP should be boycotted on PS. They're asking us to subsidise the inevitable losses they'll be making by essentially giving their games for 'free' to GP subscribers.
Nobody should buy Deathloop either seeing as the developers are now owned by MS and their next title will be an Xbox exclusive.
You're being taken for a ride, people!
@wiiware We've found a WayForward fan!
@get2sammyb It's true lol 😃
@JechtUltima Thanks for the recommendation 😁
A plague tale requiem
Atomic heart
Avatar
Back 4 Blood & Battlefield 2042 ; so excited about them two even though I should have low expectations but , I cant. Its been over a decade & an entire console gen , since (a) left 4 dead (clone) & Battlefield hasn't made a futuristic game or been on the scene in a while so both of those games seem so fresh , I'm hyped . So much multiplayer replay-ability im hoping for . If these games are good , they're gonna hold me over for at least 5 years worth !
I just hate that its in the Fall for the heavy-hitters though ; summers my favorite season thats my only complaint.
my vote goes to a plage tale requiem, elden ring and house of ashes
Elden Ring the standout imo. Looks like everything we hoped for
My most anticipated game is eSports Boxing Club but not much new was shown at E3.
After that I'm excited for the follow up to A Plague Tale, although I'm not sure I needed or wanted a sequel to it tbh.
Oh , and I'm dying for the new Outlast Trials game too . the King of Last Gen horror needs to hurry up . they've been awfully quiet about it man.
Hands down my favorite announcement (and a surprise one!) was Salt and Sacrifice.
Gotg, Smb and Two point campus for me. Fatal frame is in the mix as well.
Riders Republic, A Plague Tale, Gardeners of the galaxy
A Plague Tale: Requiem,
Trek to Yomi,
Elden Ring,
Psychonauts 2,
Stranger of Paradise and The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes I am keeping an eye for.
Tales of Arise and FarCry6 were already on Pre-order. So cant be any more excited than that.
Death stranding ps5 and gaurdians of the galaxy got me!
I noticed I picked three games that will be included in Game Pass from day one...
I think Trek to Yomi is my fourth choice.
Basically then, not a very good E3 for Sony at all.
In terms of new reveals and/or gameplay for games that were only a cgi or logo trailer. Stranger of Paradise and Elden Ring. By far the most interesting things to watch. But I'm still excited for Tales of Arise, Great Ace Attorney, Legend of Mana, and Fuga; and I'm interested in Eiyuden Chronicle and DDLC
By the way, are you guys gonna make an article about Rune Factory 4 coming to PS4? Because I'm excited for that too. Hopefully 5 doesn't stay switch exclusive for long
I just picked tales of arise but had to pick another 2 ,so closed my eyes for those, what a ***** show of an e3 it was, just waiting on Sony now to show me some proper games,id rather pay 70 for a quality game ill own ,than 10 quid a month for a couple of rentals and a few indie fillers.
@get2sammyb Where's Kena: Bridge of Spirits???
EDIT: + Other didn't work for me.
1) Elden Ring
2) Kena: Bridge of Spirits
3) A Plague Tale: Requiem
Nobody for the evil dead game? I think it's got potential
Guardians Of The Galaxy, I was worried that it would be a reskinned Avengers so I'm happy with the reveal.
My favorite games from that list were Eiyuden Chronicle, Fatal Frame, and The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles.
Shin Megami Tensei V and Metroid Dread were the proper show-stealers for me overall, though.
The PS4 games I'm looking forward to most at present are Kena: Bridge of Spirits and Horizon Forbidden West. I think the former was shown off at E3, so I'm not sure why it wasn't on the list.
Elden ring.salt and sacrifice and shadow warrior 3.word up son
I picked eyuuden, great ace attourney and tales of arise. Coincidently the only 3 that interest me.
There are a few I will no doubt pick up but probably my top 3 are:
Atomic Heart
Far Cry 6
GotG
Guardians of the Galaxy and Atomic Heart for me.
Probably by default Elden Ring, Final Fantasy Chaos and Hades cos well nothing else looked remotely interesting or...good
Damn that must select 3 options to vote threw me! Tbh there was only one, Far cry 6. Slim pickings literally
The ones on Game Pass.
Super Monkey Ball Shadow Warrior 3 Elden Ring and CHAOS!!!!!! (I'm sorry)
Elden Ring, GotG and Plague Tale Requirem.
@Logonogo Elden Ring and that is all
1/A Plagues Tale Requiem.
2/Fatal Frame
3/Guardians Of The Galaxy
Elden Ring genuinely looked awesome. Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy hyped me up when it was revealed & Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora looked great. Soulstice looked awesome also.
For all these complaints about E3 2021 my wallet wishes I had your guy’s tastes. So much goodness coming down the pike!
Looking at those results its clear that there are no really mind grabbing games there. Elder Ring looks good but it seems like yet another Souls type game. The others all look kind of meh. I am looking forward to Far Cry 6 as it is my sort of game, but it is hardly original. Avatar looks interesting though.
A plague tale:requiem, Ace attorney and Two Point campus.
"I find the lack of Star Wars content disturbing", sorry, but my 3 are GotG, Battlefield 2042 and Riders Republic.
I went through the list twice upside down and couldn't find a single game that I'm interested in !! WOW
Elden Ring of course.
Nothing else
Very weak E3 this year but my list are:
Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin
Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black
Far Cry 6 (even though I knew of this game before E3)
I would of pick Starfield if it had came to the PlayStation ecosystem AND would of launch much more earlier. Unfortunately, by the time that game comes out (late 2022 at the earliest) I’m just not going to care about it anymore.
Favorites in no order:
Back for Blood
Guardians of the Galaxy
Death Stranding
Games that almost made the list:
Battlefield
Harold Halibut
Atomic Heart
Did someone really show Plumbers Don't Wear Ties?
My initial reaction to this article was “were there any PS titles announced?” - especially as E3 only seemed to be a spooge-fest for Xbox games maybe coming out at the end of next year
@Col_McCafferty I think he meant programming for less consoles would benefit. Only time will tell.
I only picked games that had actually gameplay, personally I don't think any game that only had a CG trailer should count as a "game of E3".
With that my picks were:
Guardians the Galaxy
Riders Republic
Elden Ring, despite me being disappointed that it looked too much like Dark Souls. Which kind of sums up E3 for me that one of my top three games of the show and I was still a bit disappointed with it.
Death Stranding, Battlefield, and Atomic Heart. Super Monkey Ball is a close fourth place though. Already purchased True Colors and Kena, so I won’t think about if they’d boot someone else.
But seriously, Nintendo’s got me interested in half their Direct, so I hope Sony says something soon before I can’t afford preordering anything else this year. I’ve already decided to bump Far Cry 6 from my “purchase list”
Hi there fellow gamers.
After a very uninteresting E3, my 5 pics for PS5 games are:
As for the other systems ( in my case PC and Switch) are:
Nintendo saved E3 for me personaly: That and Elden Ring.
Cheers, stay safe folks and happy gaming to us all
My 3 favorites were :
Elden ring
Elden ring
Elden ring
@RaZieLDaNtE Amen
Tales of Arise / Guardians of the Galaxy / Legend of Mana
Despite all the complaining about E3 from this site, there's actually quite a few games here that I'd be interested in playing.
Elden ring is the big hitter, but Far Cry 6 , Life is strange and A Plague Tale: Requiem are on my list.
1. Axiom Verge 2, even though I’m getting it on Switch.
2. Battlefield 2042
3. Far Cry 6
With that said, out of E3, Nintendo stole the show. I’m preordering Metroid Dread and Advance Wars 1&2 as soon as I get home from work.
@Wiggo EAs presentation isn’t until late July, so you still have a new hope.
Guardians of the Galaxy is the best new thing that I saw for me personally
@get2sammyb Couldn’t vote in the poll as it said my selections were invalid. I chose Elden Ring, Riders Republic and other (for Kena, which had a really nice new trailer and developer commentary). Overall, this has to be the weakest E3 I’ve seen in many years. Hopefully Sony will deliver next week or the week after with a really strong showing. Otherwise, Xbox won the summer which is not good cause their showcase was just meh!
I’m just gonna say my top most anticipated from that list is Elden Ring by a long shot.
@Vivisapprentice Haha, good one.
Third pary development looks to have been hit really, really hard by the pandemic. Outside of the nintendo and microsoft shows, not too much for me. Looking forward to seeing more of Elden ring, GoTG and riders Republic. This E3 was perhaps weaker than last years. To be honest, another year like this or if nintendo or microsoft decide to drop it, game over for E3. Elden ring was not even announced at E3.
Technically elden ring wasn’t e3 as it was summer game fest
First, Atomic Hearth is not first? You are all a disgrace.
Second, of course you would all pick Elden Ring.
Third, when you look at this full list, there's not that many amazing games, sadly!
Elden Ring is my first choice by far. A Plague Tale was such a good game and my personal pick for game of the year when it released so definitely excited to continue the story. Eiyuden Chronicle is 3rd for me. Absolutely loved Suikoden back in the day and this looks like it could fill that spot since Konami has no interest in doing so.
Where is stalker 2? Come on guys, only 3 months timed exclusivity makes it a Ps5 game too… I’m surprised that avatar has only 3%. Guess because no one trusts Ubisoft and their graphic shows^^
My favorite was God of War: Ragnarok. Oh wait, that didn't happen. OK, that was my favorite thing that didn't happen.
1. Guardians Of The Galaxy
2. Avatar Frontiers of Pandora
3. Diablo 2 Only because I am waiting Diablo 4. But it will have to be under $50.
I would have picked Starfield for my PC. But I am starting to think it will turn out to be another multiplayer shooter game under Microsoft!
easily the most diappointing e3 in history. indi devs stole the show. all the AAA games outside of elden ring were predicable schlock. ubisoft put on the worst presser i have ever seen along with s-e and capcom which might as well not have been there at all. this industry has never been so stagnent and complacenet and it is sad to witness.
Hades! I am playing it on my switch lite and can’t wait to play it on a big screen and Ps4 powered!
@Culjoseth @Ralizah Kena was at E3 but wasn't on the list. Not sure why, or how it could be skipped it's looking FIRE
1. A Plague Tale: Requiem (APT: Innocence is one of my favorite PS4 games)
2. Guardians of the Galaxy
3. River City Girls 2
Overall favorite game from the show, however, is Metroid: Dread.
Death Stranding Directors Cut
Guardians of the Galaxy
Far Cry 6
Really weak E3.
It's really just Elden Ring for me, though I'm cautiously optimistic about Atomic Heart.
But I had to pick 3 so Monkey Ball got a vote even though that'll definitely be a switch purchase.
Sony really should have been there at E3. 100%.
That being said, my picks from this list I’m most excited for:
Elden Ring
Legend of Mana
Diablo 2
Tales of Arise
Fatal Frame
@UltimateOtaku91 not coming on ps5
@Illy333 you sure about that....
@Illy333 it's exclusive to xbox for three months after that it comes to playstation
@UltimateOtaku91 ok buddy lmao, ps5 is dead on water.
@Illy333 clearly was an article about it the other day 🤣 also for your information ps5 has sold more than double the series S/X combined. So go cry somewhere else
