Nothing too exciting for me but I do love the animated trailer for Legend of Mana Remastered. The new Final Fantasy Origin game is pretty underwhelming and not sure why the Classic Final Fantasy games aren't coming to major consoles, on the Switch at the very least. Was hoping they would at least end the presentation with Final Fantasy XVI but damn... My only hope now is if Sony will do a State of Play soon but I still wouldn't keep my expectations high.
Probably would of done better putting the Dragon Quest presentation content in here, rather than doing a separate presentation... but then where would they put the mobile games?
That was terrible, from the phone based nonsense, the lack of more FF XVI info and Life is Strange upgrades instead of a Tomb Raider anniversary announcement it was extremely disappointing, just like the whole of E3 so far. I suppose we have the success of Soulsbourne games and the failure of Cyberpunk, mixed with unimaginative heads of games companies that there's a huge amount of overly serious dark high fantasy games over the next 5 years or so.
@feral1975 Well, Final Fantasy Origin is trying something new with the cringe-worthy comic relief dialogue in a soulsgame. It's like Square said "lets you the FF games that our fans don't want."
Final Fantasy XVI must be being saved for PlayStation’s next show whenever that will be.
I liked the look of GotG, will most likely pick it up, looks like they’ve kept it similar to telltales version with dialogue choices.
Overall was okay presentation, one of the better ones, haven’t watched Microsoft’s yet though.
@feral1975 I wouldn’t expect anything from Tomb Raider for a while, with Crystal Dynamics working on Avengers post content and Eidos Montreal making GotG I don’t think there’s any room for it right now. I’d imagine in a couple of years there will be another reboot
Came for Life Is Strange: True Colors... Stranger of Paradise was a nice surprise.
I'll get the Demo when I get home and Signed up to be considered in the Babylon Fall beta.
One game is Day 1, and got 2 games to keep an eye for. Was fine for me.
@Yomogi
I hope the Final Fantasy 1-6 will eventually come to consoles. I hope FF3 will be released in 8 bit outside of Japan for the first time.
@Vivisapprentice
It's the 25th anniversary this October, they could have planned better than that.
Well, that was fast. Square Enix locked its Twitter account just now according to DualShockers. Probably having to do with the horrible showing of Final Fantasy Origin.
"I want to kill Chaos. I need to. It's not a hope or a dream. It's like a hunger. A thirst."
That dialogue. The horror. The horror. The horror.
FFXVI saved for Sony conference for sure
@Feena You do know Sony isn't having a conference........ right?
Square sure went down the crapper. There was nothing interesting there except the FF 8 bit collection... until it was announced that it was only going to be on mobile and steam. I don't understand them. They would make millions by releasing it on consoles. They just have really lost touch in my opinion. There was a time when Square ruled the JRPG scene. However, I believe that Atlus is taking their crown.
This presentation sucked. My opinon of Square really fell today.
MS has a win!!! They were at least better than this crap.
Give me a shout when Adam Jensen returns.
Almost nothing! It was woeful. Only the truly dire Koch media presentation (that quite literally sent me to sleep... a first at E3) was worse. But I had higher hopes for Square Enix making this one more disappointing.
Perfect example of how NOT to do a show.
@ApostateMage I clicked on this article and immediately scrolled for the Deus Ex announcement.
Legend of Mana was the best thing about the show, the rest was hot garbage...
That's it? Seriously? I expected more. Especially with lock down where people could work from home. This is very lacking and extremely disappointing. I don't understand why they can't release the Final Fantasy games on the consoles. Definitely not feeling any of these games except for the Legend of Mana. Also, what's the new obsession with everything Avengers? from what I remember that last fiasco game didn't go over all that well
Needed more Deus Ex and Tomb Raider.
