The marketing cycle for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy seems to centre on out-of-context cut-scenes, but at least Square Enix is picking ones that feature new characters. Here we’re introduced to Grand Unifier Raker, the leader of the Universal Church of Truth. Our Google-fu informs us that this intergalactic faction first featured in some Strange Tales comics from the mid-70s, although it has also appeared in more recent Guardians of the Galaxy stories as well.
To be honest, it’s hard to extract a whole lot out of this cinematic, because it clearly occurs partway through the campaign and is presented here without any background information. Nevertheless, it all looks pretty enough and is a lot less awkward than the previous scene that the publisher picked to show.

Looking good, I have bought very few PS5 games but have to say I'm excited for this one.
I'm in, because I'm a nerd about Marvel, but the pacing of these cut scenes is really off. I feel like everything should be moving a little quicker, dialogue included.
Feeling pretty spoiled on trailers this week between this today, Spidey yesterday, and LEGO Star Wars tomorrow. Goooood week to let my inner nerdy child run free
Giving away just cut scenes, like the game has nothing else to give. I expect tomorrow they'll reveal the end credits.
I like how the Peter Quill from this game seems to give the same dynamism to the narrative as the one from the MCU.
I mean this looks better than The Avengers game. Not like that's hard to accomplish, but hey, this could be good.
That's the same exact thing I said for the Avengers game...
The more I see of this game, the more excited I get! I have higher hopes for this game as it's a single player story game as opposed to a single player but also multiplayer story game but it's also a live service game.
@Jackpaza0508 @vict0RGM @jingounchained @Deadhunter @JohnKarnes Same here, big Marvel/GotG fan! I've seen both movies and even watched the animated series.
Really hoping this game turns out great, despite only 1 character being playable.
@ViolentEntity Yeah I do agree Avengers story is neat from what little I played..most people just don't care for the multiplayer elements and the controls.
