Since the multiplayer-centric series known as Battlefield won't ship with a single player campaign in the latest entry Battlefield 2042, developer EA DICE is prepping players ahead of time with a short film that sets up the events which lead into its online bouts for supremacy. Those multiplayer matches are taking the Titanfall route, injecting them with a bit of story here and there, but besides that, this near 10-minute introduction is all you're going to get.
"Battlefield 4’s Kimble “Irish” Graves returns - no longer a Marine, but the commander of the No-Pat vessel Exodus, forced to choose between the lives of the 200 refugees on his boat and the future of all the Non-Patriated," the YouTube description reads. "Witness the events that will trigger an all-out war in this standalone short film set in the World of 2042."

This just makes me want a campaign more.
I love the Battlefield campaigns, the gameplay and set pieces are always benefited by a decent story.
A game with a short film instead of a campaign is a joke. End of story
game with a short film instead of campaign talk about pointless.
I get why they removed the campaign, but OOOFFF. Can you imagine the visuals we would have gotten with the Xbox Series X and PS5 powering the game.
@Jacko11 Gonna get hate but no, BF campaigns never been good, okay at best.
Bad Company can be considered good but not great, yeah, throw them rocks at me I'm ready!!! (please don't xd)
I would just rather them focus on the MP since that's what 95% of the people who buy BF games even play it for.
Though I respect your opinion and hope you have an awesome day!
Edit: This is my opinion, I am known for having bad opinions.
@RawnDawn though I appreciate your input and opinion, I genuinely think the campaigns are great.
3, 4, and 1 are awesome, tight, solid gameplay driven campaigns with decent stories. The graphics, gameplay and sound design combined with the story make for a blood pumping 4-6 hour campaign before jumping into multiplayer.
Though i’m onboard with 100% multiplayer focus as thats where Battlefield excels, this story video still leaves a little to be desired for what has been lost.
But you to have a good day and thanks for the polite disagreement 😂
I have to be honest i cant remember one or any characters from the BF campaings.
I enjoyed the short film, shame the actual game has no campaign.
