If you've yet to play It Takes Two, we'd highly recommend you do. It's a fantastic co-op action platformer with oodles of imagination, and levels that continually introduce new stuff to see and do. You don't have to take our word for it, though — developer Hazelight Studios has today announced the game has now sold 3 million copies.
Due to the fact the game is only playable in a twosome, It Takes Two has theoretically been played by 6 million people. Both figures are pretty staggering for the size and scope of the release.
Hazelight is clearly very grateful for all the success, and it states that "co-op adventures are here to stay" in the above tweet. It seems, as if there was any doubt, that its next game will follow in the cooperative footsteps of It Takes Two and A Way Out, which is fine by us.
If you want to read more about the game, check out our exclusive interview with Josef Fares, in which we ask him all about that infamous scene about a certain stuffed elephant. Have you enjoyed It Takes Two this year? Work together in the comments section below.

One of the best games I've ever played. The success is well-deserved.
Game of the year for me
I'll still be adding 1 to that number one of these days.
Well done. It Takes Two has made it out of sight!
@Voltan Same, just waiting for my partner and I to have some extended free time so we can play this together.
YES to more co-op adventures. Finally got around to A Way Out over the summer with a buddy, we’re eager to jump into this one over winter break.
I’d love to play this but all my mates have X boxes and it’s not really their kind of game anyhow.
Does it have online multiplayer like sackboy?
Would happily purchase if so
@jingounchained they are both amazing games and I will pre-order there next game post haste
It Takes Two is my game of the year. It was very refreshing, fun and overall enjoyable.
I just got the platinum a few hours ago! Definitely one of the best coop games I’ve played.
Tons of fun playing with my niece. It is a brilliant co-op game
"co-op adventures are here to stay"
Yes... please!
Well deserved. Such a great game. More please.
This is suuuch a joy to play with my wife!
Absolutely loved this game. Hazelight Studios has cemented itself as one of my favourite developers. Cannot wait to see what they come out with next.
Well I somehow missed this one but it's on the list now. Wife and I are about halfway done w/ Sackboys so I'll pick it up after that.
Fantastic that it was a succes but it sucks i dont know people who want to play games. I hope that the other singleplayer game will get a physical release the one with the Dice.
Definitely deserves it, had a great time playing it with my friend
@Flaming_Kaiser Yeah, same here. My mate will play for like an hour tops if he comes round and that'll be now and then anyway. So, it will probably just sit there for me. Will wait for my son to get old enough to get good at games. Haha
My kids and I have been playing through this since launch day and we're still not finished. We all love it A LOT but most of the kids are inexperienced gamers so everything takes 5 times as long as it would if I were playing on my own 😄
This is one of those rare games that's actually really fun to watch, even if you're not playing. So even though there are 9 of us, it's still fine that only 2 can play at a time.
I just need to convince my best friend to buy it first.
Not online, just local?
really wanna play it but dont have any friends lol
@naruball If you both play on PlayStation just let them download the pass from the free games section you only need to buy one copy to play it
I’ve bought this but we haven’t gotten around to playing it yet. Week off next week so hopefully the wife will enjoy it. The only games she’s played in recent years was fall guys.
@Jayofmaya Another use for kids a coöp partner. 😁
I really have no issue with these games but they are kind of wasted on me.
@Flaming_Kaiser Yeah, no doubt I'll have to go through Lego Avengers and all of that first, though.
Yeah. I bet they are fun, but currently online is all I play. I'm more likely to convince guests to try Playroom VR tbh just because of the VR quirk.
I bought it and tried but unfortunately my gf is a bit terrible in video games. Well actually, she's not THAT bad, it's more that she doesnt have the patience for it and she thinks that I think she's terrible... result is she's not having fun.. shame because the game was really cool
Loved it…but that particular scene will haunt me for the rest of my life!
@SamMR wow. Really? I had no idea. Thanks a ton. That changes everything. I'll let him know.
