Scapes were such an awesome addition to GT Sport. For those of you who didn’t play the PlayStation 4 simulation racer, they effectively allowed you to place the cars from the game into “real world” environments, in order to photograph them. These come with authentic lighting data, effectively allowing you to create realistic photographs.
It’s an “avant-garde” feature according to series creator Kazunori Yamauchi, but it all stems from his passion for photography. Honestly, we spent almost as much time in this mode as we did playing the game, so we’re happy to see it return in Gran Turismo 7. Hopefully there are a number of new locations to snap, and even deeper camera simulation features.

I have a feeling that GT7 will be very very similar to GTsport..except the car upgrade options..
This has gone from a game that I’m kinda interested in to one of my most anticipated games in the last couple months
I just want to know when a CSL DD for playstation is coming from Fanatec.
Already pre-ordered the 25th Anniversary Edition. I can’t wait. Just praying for the PSVR 2 announcement.
I've played all the GT games since the beginning except for GT Sport as I waited a year for the offline content to be added, and that's my biggest fear with the next instalment – GT7.
It is Kaz's vision/direction for how the series goes but so far he's talked about car collecting, livery editor and photography – scapes and I'm just wondering if they have got round to trying to improve the AI and thinking about the single player content - Motorsport, racing cars with a similar performance around a track.
So far the best in the series has been GT4 and since then just hit and miss. How difficult would it be to purchase any car and have up to 3 races that you could enter and lose/win fairly against a decent AI, and on upgrading the car spec a few more.
Up to and including GT Sport the racing has always been chasing down the lead car which is always a second ahead of the rest of the field, with the others just cruising around and if you do get in front the game uses rubber banding to catch up. I remember one race I won in GT sport with one of the other cars lapping 2 seconds quicker than my fastest lap.
@zebric21 Umm have you seen any of the trailers? GT7 has a real career mode where you start out with a junker and buy/win/sell your way to the top.
It has 420 cars from the jump. Twice as many as GTS started with.
It has rain/snow/dynamic day/night.
Car customization.
Ray tracing, advanced haptics/adaptive triggers, 3D audio.
More tracks.
GT7 is a mix of classic GT + Sport mode. Basically the ultimate GT. It'll suit both solo and competitive players.
@Salt_AU Everyone complained when Sport was themed around innovation. The FIA competitive mode and even some VR inclusion. Ppl cried for a classic GT experience. Now GT7 is giving a mix of both and you STILL cry. Pathetic.
Who exactly "innovates" in the car scene? Is Forza H5 a huge innovation? Did P Cars innovate? I think the innovative Sport mode plus a classic GT career, combined with cutting edge tech and 420 cars is absolutely perfect. GT7 is shaping up beautifully. The in-house RT engine and dynamic day/night/weather have me excited as well.
Endurance races with the sun setting and preparing for dynamic weather will be exciting. Utilizing snow tires. All the new cars. I can't wait. The best sim on console.
@iamtylerdurden1 I 'll buy the game day one as well but I'm afraid that cross-gen will held it back.
