As you'll no doubt have read about recently, Call of Duty: Vanguard has been struggling in the UK. At this point, the game is a low point in the franchise's recent history — at least in terms of sales. You can learn more about that through here, but even with the comparably low sales, Activision's shooter is still number one in the UK's latest physical games chart.
FIFA 22 remains in second place, while a handful of new releases shake up the top 10. Jurassic World Evolution 2 debuts in sixth position, with the PlayStation 5 version just about edging out the others in terms of share. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, sixth last week, has slipped down to 10th, while Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales moves from fifth to 14th.
Here's the latest top 10 in full.
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 13th November, 2021
- Call of Duty: Vanguard
- FIFA 22
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Forza Horizon 5
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Jurassic World Evolution 2
- Mario Party Superstars
- Minecraft (Switch)
- Shin Megami Tensei V
- Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

Vanguard's multiplayer is actually addictive and fantastic. So much hate for this game, but it will keep selling anyway!
I actually really love the MP on Vanguard. Did my first Prestige last Friday and will keep going
But how does a game with heavily criticised framerate issues (reaching heights of 0fps on ps5 due to checkpoint bugs), glitches, pacing problems, and uninspired (almost copy and paste) level/mission design, still get to number one in the sales chart?... Because the vast majority of console owners are casual gamers. Who don't frequent gaming sites or YouTube analysis religiously. They pick 2 maybe 3 games up per year. And this is why Sony/ms aren't concerned that supporting PC is going to effect console sales. Cause you know what causal gamers aren't playing on? - gaming PC's.
@Bleachedsmiles I have had none of these issues? I got a max level STG 44 though
#winning
I'll play COD campaign this week. Did not get a chance over the weekend
Love Forza Horizon 5. Tons of fun, was my #1 game this weekend (On PC GamePass, so also a great deal)
Shin Megami Tensei V is OK. It is not Persona 5 level (most games are not either) but scratches the jRPG itch perfectly.
First Tales of Arise and now SMT - good times for jRPG fans.
Well I am actually enjoying the new cod, it's very fast paced and some good maps, haven't had a map that I don't like which is a change
@NateGoesLive Ditto. Apart from a few 'disconnected' issues, It's been great fo me on PS5
It's so funny to see a game that's "struggling" with sales at the top spot. Like I said in the other article even a poor selling COD I'd a great success. It's like clockwork!
Also good to see SMTV chart. I didn't expect to see that in the top 10.
I have a question for people who are playing Vanguard, as I can't decide whether I'm gonna like it or not.
I immensely enjoyed MW 2019 multiplayer, but really hated CW and how they'd downgraded some of the mechanics/features. Would I like Vanguard? do you think it's more like CW or MW? (I know they're all in different historical periods and that has an impact on the gameplay, but I found CW's general feels very in line with COD:WWII)
I’m really disappointed in everyone. I can’t believe you’ve let GTAV drop out of the top 10. You all need to buy more copies. If you haven’t bought your third copy yet then you’re slacking and are part of the problem.
I’d love for them to make a historically accurate WW2 game with realistic weapons and scenarios that actually took place. More realistic injury detail. Something more grounded in reality, for a more mature audience.
I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older but lately the writing in almost all video games has started to feel like it was written by high school students (or at least written with them in mind). Maybe that’s where the larger audience is?
Far Cry 6 for example (because I’m playing that now) has the most eye-rollingly bad dialogue. Just think how much more interesting it would be if the characters were more realistic.
We keep being told that gaming is evolving and becoming more mature but is it? Is it really? On the whole it still feels pretty juvenile to me.
@lolwhatno ..I wonder if people or Activision would have the same reaction if it was the Bible ?
@fR_eeBritney try Hell Let Loose
SMT V deserves to be even higher. Amazing game. Fully worth the painful wait.
@KingPev I can’t speak for any of those books but I’d be super-pissed if it was pages of Harry Potter and the Philiosophers Stone 🤣
i think the lower sales is based on name recognition. meaning more people will recognize the black ops series or the modern warfare series. but id expect these sales to skyrocket in 2.5-3 weeks when the new warzone map comes out people will be using vanguard to level up there guns.
@KingPev thanks this looks great actually 👍
Need to get me a PS5 first though and I’m holding out for the slim redesign.
@lolwhatno I don't know how QA missed something like that. Religious iconography of any kind is absolutely not meant to have ANY kind of decal applied to it at all. It's standard practice, and is a bug that's taken really seriously.
I don't think Sledgehammer left it in the game on purpose. I think it was just missed, and it should be fixed soon hopefully!
@lolwhatno There are people who want to stir up trouble and animosity. And they want to keep that going. They are from all sides of the religious and atheist spectrum unfortunately. I'm not religious in the strongest way that's practiced but a monotheistic God(which all 3 abrahamic religions teach) is a fantastic move. The universe is probably just one piece in an infinite set of representations of the beauty of God. (Though I think this world/reality is a 'vacation' from an otherwise nigh on perfect existence that is here to fill out the experience of God wanting us to have freewill, warts and all).
Sorry, little bit off topic 🙈

@fR_eeBritney ..well, if you ask me they're all works of fiction ! 😉
@KingPev Yeah, it would be funny if in 2,000 years (following the fall of our civilization), those who come after us find the complete collection of Harry Potter books and begin to worship Harry Potter (their saviour) and the great creator... J K Rowling 🤣
AngryJoe’s review says everything there needs to be said about this game. It sucks
