Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Assassin's Creed Odyssey are each getting a free quest on the 14th December. In Valhalla, Eivor will meet with Kassandra — the main female protagonist from Odyssey, who was still alive when Eivor's Viking saga takes place. Meanwhile, in Odyssey, it sounds like Kassandra / Alexios will be hunting down some kind of powerful treasure. Both free offerings have in-game rewards up for grabs.
It's crazy to think that Odyssey is getting a new content drop after all these years, but it would help explain why the game was updated for PlayStation 5 not that long ago.
Will you be jumping between Valhalla and Odyssey for these new quests? Simply never stop playing Assassin's Creed in the comments section below.

I am unclear if this is the AC Multiverse or AC Metaverse beginning to happen..but who cares...it's Kassandra and I am in!
@Slippship It'll fill up any free time you've got over the holidays, that's for sure.
I really wished they gave the option to have Alexios featured. I don't know why Ubisoft would give us the option of protagonist selection, and then act like he doesn't exist. I spent 150 hours with Alexios (the option a majority of players picked, by Ubisoft's own admission). I want to see him, not Kassandra.
@BlahBlahBlee And majority of ME players choose MaleShep but they were wrong about that as well.
Kassandra all the way, clearly the better choice.
😛
@BlahBlahBlee I think the reason they had Alexios even as a choice has a lot to do with Ubisoft’s very well documented issues with sexism. She’s the canon choice, she should have just been the one choice of playable character.
@BlahBlahBlee He isn't the canon lead and he was only made a lead because Ubi were sexists and didn't want a game with a full female lead. Kassadra is the lead and even Valhalla refrences her in the present day as the Eagle Bearer.
@Alduin She was always the canon lead but were forced to include him as a choice, the game was clearly designed around her as well and makes little sense with him as the hero. Come on the Daughters of Artemes questline is hard proof she was the lead.
Alexios was goofily ace as the antagonist brother though.
@Alduin is it actually going to be a multiplayer game though?
I was not expecting this news at all. Very interesting. If only I hadn't just recently deleted Odyssey off of my hard drive. D'oh!
@Tf20 I think it’ll be more like a marvel avengers situation, minus the co-op
@Alduin Kassandra was the 'canon' choice from the start. Same as female Eivor (or letting the Animus decide as it were). It's the marketing that thought players couldn't handle women protagonists.
(Thrice if the Aya Origins story is accurate.)
And some seem determined to vindicate them based on the reactions to a crossover.
Even then the Alexios choice is a what-if scenario anyway.
@Ridley Yeah Eivor is clearly the canon choice. I got my male Eivor called "She" or "her" in several quests. Also Eivor is a female name.
It's a shame cause Magnus Brunn plays a waaay better Eivor than the female VA.
I'm just asking that they reflect players' choices. To most players, Kassandra was Deimos, not the Eagle Bearer. If she was so clearly the canon choice, they should have had the courage to feature her alone. The animus was ambiguous, so it seems disingenuous to act like Kassandra was definitive.
@Alduin Canonically Kassandra was the hero, Valhalla even at the start refers to her as the Eagle Bearer. Kassandra was always going to be the lead of Odyssey but Ubi got cold feet mid-way through and forced a male lead what is widely known now. As i said if you play Odyssey all the signs are there that the game was designed to be played as Kassandra, there's an entire huge questline what would only make sense if played as a woman for instance as well the villain being called Deimos a male name. Also check out the voice actors when they were doing promo for the game they always acted like Kassandra was the hero and Alexios the villain.
@BlahBlahBlee The Devs wanted and always planned as Kassandra as the lead but the sexist and abusers at higher up from Ubi didn't want a female lead as they thought it wouldn't sell so they forced them to add a male lead mid-way into making it.
@Alduin Ahh I really hope it isn't, that would suck
I don't really think it matters the reasoning behind them giving you a choice of gender, it fits in to a game with rpg elements so I like having the choice. It gives you a different perspective of the game when replying as the other gender.
@Alduin That's actually not true. They said Kassandra was canon in 2018 and the sexual misconduct stuff was in 2020. Sometimes female characters are considered the main character because they want them to be, not because of some ulterior motive.
I'll definitely be playing both of these free quests at some point. Odyssey was my favorite game of the last generation, so of course I'll take more Kassandra. It may be longer before I play the crossover one in Odyssey as I would have to re-install the game again on top of having to re-install Valhalla tomorrow not by choice, but I will at some point.
Dangit. I’d successfully ignored Valhalla with no issues but more Kassandra means I have to buy it now. Will wait until next BF when it is dirt cheap.
Is it timed like the events or is it available forever? I have no space to reinstall Odyssey lol
@AFCC Hopefully not a timed event...have they ever done trophies for timed events?
I’m done with AC until they hit the modern age.
@KidBoruto I really don't know but I think no...?
@Bunchesopuppies They already have, it's called Watch_Dogs .
@AFCC https://forum.psnprofiles.com/topic/83072-any-trophies-tied-to-a-limited-time-event/
We should be safe, when it does rarely happen it's sport games.
@KidBoruto well that's kinda dumb!
@AFCC Agreed but it rarely happens and usually only sports games, so it never affects me personally lol.
