Frigid survival game KONA, which previously launched for the PlayStation 4 and PSVR, is now available on the PS5. There’s also a free PS4 to PS5 upgrade available, if you purchased it previously on Sony’s last-gen console. There’s no word in the press release on what improvements you can expect, but it’s probably safe to anticipate higher resolution graphics and a sturdier framerate.
“Northern Canada, 1970. A strange blizzard ravages Atamipek Lake,” the official blurb reads. “Step into the shoes of private detective Carl Faubert to explore the eerie village, investigate surreal events, and battle the elements to survive. KONA is a game submerged in mystery and intrigue, one with a spine-tingling narrative and unflinching drama that unfolds building the tension throughout.”
We awarded KONA a 6/10 in our review: “While the overarching story in KONA will no doubt leave you cold, the tense atmosphere at the centre of its snowstorm setting will warm your desire to see it all the way through to the end.” Will you be upgrading your game, or checking this out for the first time? Keep warm in the comments section below.

So, would this be the first ps5 upgrade game that also has VR support? Lol
I just love this name because in my country "Kona" with a "C" is a really bad word lol
I don't even know what the game is about, but I know it because of this name
I remember preordering Kona. Jeez, that feels like a lifetime ago. Can’t believe it’s still getting updates. Is the sequel ever going to come out at this point? Gotta wonder. I liked the game fair enough.
I always thought this was a skateboarding game scrolling past it in the PS Store and every time I was disappointed. For the unaware, Kona is the oldest surviving skatepark in the world.
@lolwhatno yeah true lol!
@lolwhatno a bit! In particular the bad words lol
Does anybody have the same problem that Trophies for PS5 version are not visible on the tropy list? I've got notification about first 2 trophies, but there is no trophy list visible in my Trophies at all for PS5 version.
@WGK Yes, the trophies are not on the PSN Servers. I've contacted Sony and the developers, no answers yet.
