Kalypso Media is repackaging banana republic strategy sim Tropico 6 for release on the PlayStation 5, with the 4K new-gen edition scheduled to wage political war from 31st March, 2022. “In addition to the main game, [this version] will include the Llama of Wall Street DLC as well as the El Prez Pack with an additional mission, new buildings, and numerous decoration options for the Dictator’s Palace – as well as for the island ruler himself,” the press release teases.

There are also some gameplay enhancements being integrated into this re-release, including a “revised research system focusing on the political aspects of being the world’s greatest dictator”. We liked Tropico 6 when it released a couple of years ago on the PS4, describing it as one of the console’s “best strategy games”. There’s no free PS4 to PS5 upgrade option available here, however, so if you already own it you’re out of luck.
