ANNO: Mutationem, the 2.5D cyberpunk side-scroller releasing as part of Sony's China Hero Project, has today gone gold, meaning work on a 1.0 version is now complete. The team at Thinking Stars will now presumably start putting together a day one patch ahead of a PlayStation 5, PS4 launch in the near future. When asked if the game will be out soon, the official China Hero Project Twitter account simply said: "Hell yes!"
Shuhei Yoshida also offered his own congratulations in a tweet, with other PlayStation representatives in attendance at the studio for the announcement.
"In this Action-Adventure game with RPG elements, you become Ann: a highly-skilled combat-trained lone wolf on a personal mission in a giant Metropolis, full of sinister mega-corporations, mysterious fringe groups and creatures more bizarre than words can express."
The game has been kicking around for a number of years now, first debuted back in 2018. A few delays later and ANNO: Mutationem is finally ready for its PS5, PS4 release. We'll bring you word once its release date has been confirmed. Are you interested? Let us know in the comments below.

Awesome news. I've been looking forward to this one for years.
I've been looking forward to this for ages. But got to admit that was a weirdly unbalanced trailer. Combat looked janky AF!
This game looks cool.
Hope it turns out great, currently playing FIST and it's pretty good, Sony's China hero project might be finally finding some gems.
Looks cool! So is the China Hero Project a Sony initiative that publishes games from different Chinese developers? I only heard the name while playing through F.I.S.T - which I thoroughly enjoyed!
@NeoTokyo404 That's exactly what it is mate. Sony are the main company behind it but have backers from companies like Epic and Unity. It's really a project to find and back games in China from mostly upstart developers. FIST and ANNO are the games that recently got some attention but arguably the biggest one under the project is Lost Souls Aside which has been in development for a good while now.
Yes! This is one of my anticipated indie game of this year, can't wait to play it
Looks like it could be decent but that video was put together very poorly.
Looks really great. Nice to see more Cyberpunk games.
Looking forward to this one, tried demo on Steam, looks really promising.
