Here's a blast from the past. About eight and a half years ago, Sony and Quantic Dream put out a visually stunning tech demo entitled The Dark Sorcerer. This is essentially a short film (embedded above), taking a dark fantasy premise and twisting it with some fourth wall-breaking comedy. While it's not been seen or heard of since 2013, rumour has it that the French developer is in fact making a second major game, and it's based on this quirky demo.
As reported by VGC, this comes from Twitter user AccountNGT, who has previously shared information and images of Star Wars Eclipse days before its official unveiling. Here's what the rumourmonger has to say about the project:

So, if this is to be believed, Quantic Dream's core Paris team is building a cross-gen game based on The Dark Sorcerer, focusing on narrative and humour with a non-linear story. It certainly seems plausible, and let's not forget this wouldn't be the first time the studio takes a tech demo and turns it into a full game (hello, Detroit: Become Human).
Obviously, this isn't to be taken as gospel, but the Twitter user did leak Star Wars Eclipse ahead of time, and this all sounds rather likely. If the game does exist, we probably won't see it for a while, though.
What do you think about this? Would you be interested in a full game based on The Dark Sorcerer? Go easy on the pyrotechnics in the comments section below.

Having watched the video again, it still looks pretty impressive to say it's the better part of a decade old.
Cross-gen. Does that mean PS5/PS6?
I had a feeling they would take a fantasy approach
I for one can't wait to see what they'll come up with!
Why would I buy a game my friends can't play?
Oh that one... I remember watching it but getting really bored halfway through and then turning it off...
And now I tried again, 8 years later, with the same result. Guess you could call it a 8 year anniversary.
That's a cool tech demo. The fantasy setting would be quite a different tone to their other games, but I could see this working well.
Medieval satire I love it hope to see it in the future
Yeah i would buy it, I liked the Demo.
Cross gen? When will it release? Are we going to have cross gen games two years from now? Because that would be a shame.
“Humour based game…story written by David Cage…” we really are in unprecedented times.
I had all but forgotten this. I thought it was a great little video and would enjoy a game based on this.
@Jimmer-jammer His writing has always been humorous to me, though not exactly purposefully.
I'd love a Fahrenheit / indigo prophecy sequel I love that game , the pc version is currently free for amazon prime members
-Story written by David Cage
And, I'm out. Cage sucks, he's a terrible writer and an even worse person. F*ck him, and f*ck any project he has anything to do with.
@GeneJacket People in general are terrible. Our species is this planets cancer, so you should turn your back to everyone and everything if you care.
@Infernal yes everyone Is bad, don’t excuse David cage from being terrible
After re-watching the tech demo and hearing about this news, definitely more interested!
