According to Sony’s own statistics, just 0.1 per cent of GT Sport owners managed to unlock the Platinum Trophy. That’s because Polyphony Digital included some absolute slog gongs, requiring 91 online wins and a ludicrous amount of XP to reach Level 50. It looks like the Japanese developer has learned its lesson, as Gran Turismo 7’s Trophies are much more straight-forward overall.
After a number of copies shipped early in the United States this weekend, GT Planet has got its hands on the full PS5 and PS4 Trophy list. It’s not massively dissimilar to GT Sport, and you’ll unlock many of the Trophies naturally, through normal gameplay. This includes tasks like washing a car ten times or taking 100 photos.
There are still some time-consuming gongs, though. For example, you’ll need to drive 8,197 miles total in online multiplayer, which will take you a fair few hours. You’ll also need to get Gold on all license tests, which could prove tricky if you find simulation racing games tough. The rest are easy enough, though; you’ll need specific cars in some situations, like achieving 373mph, but the majority will come without trying.
You can check out the full list over on GT Planet, but be sure to come back and tell us whether you’ll be targeting the Platinum Trophy in the comments section below.

Yeeeessss!!!!! I love this set of trophies! I'm so jacked for GT7! Let's go!!!!
I wanted the Platinum on Gran Turismo Sport but I gave up. It was just going to take forever. I might go for this one though.
Can’t wait for Friday. Very jealous of the people that got early deliveries.
Just need that PSVR2 compatibility announcement now.
Considering games are going to be $70 officially starting with this one they better be packed to the brim with content. I bought Horizon at launch because I knew I could truly get my money's worth out of it. I skipped ratchet and clank for the same reason.
Of course, this is Gran Turismo we're talking about here so if anything there's too much content usually. 😅
Having a digital copy, 2 accounts and 2 consoles might solve the online winning part, right? Like it does on NFS Underground...and Flatout for ex.
They sound very reasonable. I only managed to platinum one GT game (I think it was 6). I didn’t even try to do GT Sport. The 91 wins online is tough for someone with my skill level (I could come in top 3 but to win is difficult).
The only trophies I care about are those beautiful golds for the license tests.
@tofuman86
There aren’t any trophies for online wins are there?
Platted sport so this should be a doddle. My hype for this game is now fever pitch
@Slippship 2009? With super stardust? My first plat was Uncharted:Drakes fortune
@thefourfoldroot literally says in the article 91 online wins required.
@Angelus3K that’s GTSport
@Angelus3K
It says that about GT Sport
@Mikey856 ah yes so it is. Looks like I can’t read!!
@thefourfoldroot yea sorry mate, was me not reading it properly.
I find this hard to say but it's actually a shame there isn't the same sort of online trophies as GTS as it made you really try to improve your racing skills.
The 8,197 miles will probably be pretty easy to rack up quite quickly. I piled on over 20,000 miles in a few months towards the end.
I'm up for trying this - I remember struggling to get gold in all license tests before, I wander if I'll do it this time? Looking forward to trying!
Fortunately or otherwise, I'm not a trophy addict and just enjoy them as they pop up however and whenever.
But I'm every bit as excited for GT7, can remember eagerly handing over the cash for the original in WH Smith's all those years ago.
And for those who think games are overpriced now, that original GT was £49.99 and that was 25 years ago!
When does the review embargo lift?

@defiledviper chill out man
Disappointed in this trophy list.
I wanted the multiplayer trophies again for race wins/pole positions & races entered
The only thing I didn't want was the absolutely garbage level 50 grind.
I was level 49 when I got permabanned so I never bothered to restart. My Kudsoprine was WildFireR2 so you can see race stats, getting wins/poles was not a problem at all, especially if it was a good track combo for the week & you could lay down a solid qualifying time.
I really hope the Gold license are a worthy challenge, in the old games they were tough but not that unobtainable. It felt good Golding them all but in GT Sport they were an embarrassment. Way too easy & clearly just turning it into a participation award.
Hopefully they're more challenging this time, it takes away from the experience when the difficulty is drastically lowered for people imo.
I'd prefer to see more skill orientated trophies instead of just time consuming. Time consuming is often mindless & low skill, whereas at least skill requirements actually demand something of you but don't require you to sink your life into them.
@ApostateMage sad to say it looks like it'll be an empty achievement
From the state of play, there was a moment where the guy gets gold & he's making all kinds of small mistakes that cost tonnes of time...
I think they'll probably be extremely low skill barrier for all gold again, just like GT Sport, basically making it a non-achievement.
@WildFireX what'd you do to get perma banned?
@ATaco Just ***** talk tbh, over a sustained period of time in responses to replies on PSN messages & then I'd get reported. Poor discipline responding to clowns pretty much & PSN these days hand out bans & warnings for almost anything that can be deemed abusive, which is basically anything.
It is what it is.
I'll plat it! Might take me a while, but I'll get there, whatever they are. I pushed like hell over the past couple of weeks to get the 91 wins before they turn the servers off which I finally managed to get done yesterday, I'm currently level 47, so halfway to level 50 and I've won more than half of the campaign mode. I honestly cannot see how that much XP could be earned if they hadn't of added some element of a single player mode to it, although I got GT Sport at launch (albeit delivered 3 days after launch, c/o an ignorant, and now very ex, girlfriend) but work and life stopped me from getting into it until it was at least a year old, by which time campaign mode had been added so I don't know if that is the reason why level 50 is such a slog... But at least now I have all the server based trophies I can go back and platinum this at my leisure. I got the GT6 plat in one of the 2020 lockdowns as I had a bit of spare time, and was going to do GT5 but for the online trophies (pretty sure they were share a picture and a track, so pretty pathetic anyway) I just really hope they've put some effort into ensuring that GT7's sport mode isn't Destruction Derby by another name....
Hyped for GT7 on PS5. Haven't bought and played a GT game since GT3 on PS2. Only thing putting me off is the GBP 70 price tag...sheesh.
So many good games coming out this year. Decisions decisions I wish my wallet could accommodate them all.
I have zero interest in trophies but I hate online ones but it's what it is nowadays .. I love racing games and gt games but never race online so I whold never get the platinum even if I wanted it .
@Angelus3K that was for gt sports not gt7 👍
3 DAYS PEOPLE!!! 🙌🙌
@UK_ Wednesday around lunch time UK then Thursday at the same time people are allowed to stream it.
@Slippship ahhhh the walking dead, & that ending…. Stuff of gaming legend
@WildFireX @Kidfunkadelic83 my mate gets banned from GT all the time . He says GTplayers have sticks up their backsides
