Original Story (February 2022): LEGO sets based on gaming properties are all the rage nowadays, so it was only a matter of time before Sony's Horizon franchise was treated to one. Specifically themed around Horizon Forbidden West, the Tallneck set will be made up of 1,222 pieces and cost $80. It's set to launch on 22nd May 2022, but pre-orders aren't open just yet.
The passive, robotic dinosaurs feature in both this week's sequel and 2017's Horizon Zero Dawn, unlocking new icons on the map once you've reached the top and interacted with them. The Tall neck is, of course, the main attraction for this LEGO set, but you'll also get a miniature Aloy figure, a Watcher, and some scenery.
Gaming series have become increasingly popular options as LEGO expands its set, with past ones including Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog.
In our Horizon Forbidden West PS5 review, we awarded the sequel a 9/10. "It's a gorgeous, wildly fun action RPG, and there's nothing else quite like it." Will you be picking up this LEGO set in May? Start building in the comments below.

Check out the mini Aloy.
I don't really do Lego but this looks cool and the price isn't too terrible
I NEEEEED IT.
Open the preorder please!
That is gorgeous. If that price is correct then that is a steal by Lego standards too.
Not game related but check out the new Jurassic Park T Rex Breakout diorama as well.
Now isnβt that just awesome! Will be keeping my eye on this!
@Voltan I bet some people will pay this just for the Aloy minifig!
This is very cool
$80 so for UK? Β£70 Euro? unless America release only..
The question is not "do I want this"....it's "where shall I put it".
If I didn't think this would get assimilated into my son's lego collection I'd go for it. All of the amazing Mario and Marvel / DC sets that he's had for birthdays and christmases are now just one indistinguishable pile of pieces.
@render super glue, you say?
@theheadofabroom Kragle, clearly.
@shadow2k I'm not sure whether we have that in the UK? It's certainly not as common as loctite superglue. A+ movie reference though π
@theheadofabroom @shadow2k I've had that thought before but just can't bring myself to do it having watched the Lego movie. I don't want to be "that guy" π
Definitely going to get my hands on this set.
@PenguinL Arm and a Leg-o.
Im buying it. I just finished the lego sonic set and it looks great, so this will go very nicely in the collection
Ughhhh I'm going to have to buy this lol! Hopefully the pre order process goes relatively smoothly!
@theheadofabroom We don't, as far as I know unless you can get it in one of the many shops we have that imports stuff from the US (my local sweet shop imported full-fat Vanilla Coke from the States and I was ON IT, it was criminal they discontinued it in 2003 here). I just wanted to make a cool reference before anyone else. XD
@PenguinL It's not that expensive TBH. Generally a 120 piece set goes on sale for about $120 ($0.10 a piece is the general rule). Licensed sets can be more expensive. So all things considered, it's a pretty good deal.
$80 Dollars Maybe the extra price will go to Sony.
Wow. This manages to be cool and adorable at the same time.
This is actually awesome, going to snatch this up asap. I just finished the Sonic one recently and that one is really cool too. It was my first Lego set since I was knee high to a grasshopper. Lego has some pretty sick sets these days.
Class.
@Ooccoo_Jr price is real! Quite a steal
I read thereβs an incoming patch for HFW so when you climb a Tallneck it yells βLego of me!β
damn, I wasn't expecting this but I am glad to see a Sony IP get their Lego set after Nintendo had theirs with Super Mario
My wife is an avid lego collector and I wince each time we buy an expensive set. Of course I'm thinking about how many games I could have bought with the money...
I wonder if this could be the first of many sets. Iβm definitely getting this.
This set is really good value by Lego standards. The new mandalorian fighter is eye watering in comparison.
I want this but I want a lego Thunder Jaw even more.
@Falkirk4life It is available in UK for Β£69.99. That seems very reasonable indeed to me.
Just a few months ago, Colin Moriarty (from the excellent PlayStation podcast, Sacred Symbols) was chastising PlayStation for not making a ton of toys, collectibles, and Lego sets with their properties because "they are not interested in nickels and dimes," but since then, two PlayStation Lego sets were announced. He has spurred them into action!
Kidding of course, the new Sony CEO executing his "One Sony" vision is likely the real reason here as they try to synergize their various brands.
@TheCollector316 The Uncharted one was a hoax I'm afraid. Doesn't mean it couldn't happen in the future though, I'm sure Horizon won't be the only collaboration. I love the Sonic one too and the Mario 64 set. They are doing some really great stuff lately.
@Ooccoo_Jr
Dang. That sucks about the Uncharted set being fake. It sounded appealing. Feels bad.
Well, if the Uncharted set were real, it would be clearly coinciding with the new movie and the "new" game, which is great synergy. At least the Horizon one is real. Those swept up in the game's hype would be more inclined to buy that set resulting in additional revenue for Sony (and Lego).
@HUMPERDOO πππππππ½ππ½ππ½
That's the PS5 Lego, the PS4 Lego would only be $60, but the light effects wouldn't be as pretty.
@Dragonaged Same thoughts here, for $80 USD I could buy 1 $60 game and a $20 game on sale, two $40 games, or four $20 games...
Much as I miss playing with LEGOs, I can't justify spending that much on some plastic bricks sadly...
LEGO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make a LEGO 'PS1'(well any of the PlayStation's really would be COOL) Hopefully this will lead to more PlayStation LEGO stuff. I will be buying this to Aloy is sooooo CΓTE in Minifigure form to
Tall neck and deep pockets
