It may not actually be a new Dino Crisis game, but at least one important member of the franchise's development team is involved in the production of Exoprimal. Hiroyuki Kobayashi, who is credited as a planner for the original game and a producer of Dino Crisis 2 and Dino Crisis 3, will be part of the Capcom team bringing the newly announced co-op dinosaur shooter to life next year.
Kobayashi confirmed his involvement through a tweet detailing the projects he's been a part of in the past. Exoprimal has now been added to that list, but his actual role wasn't shared. Hopes of a new Dino Crisis game were revitalised for a quick second as the latest State of Play presentation opened with the new Capcom title. The announcement trailer included dinosaurs and a red-haired female that looks a lot like PS1 icon Regina. However, as more footage was shown, it quickly became clear the experience wasn't going to be a Dino Crisis one.
Still, that classic DNA may still live on through Exoprimal thanks to the inclusion and efforts of Hiroyuki Kobayashi. The producer has also worked on many Resident Evil titles, Devil May Cry, and Mega Man 11 most recently.

But it's not the same Capcom! You took our wants on board, but created this... Haha this is basically Anthem with Dino's.
@EquiinoxGII
Anthem with Dino's... lol, that's exactly what went through my head too when I saw this. It looks so dumb haha
Shame because the characters looked promising at the beginning, and I got some serious Dino Crisis vibes, until they slapped stupid mec suits on them and ruined all hopes!
Lost me at co-op.
This could have (possibly) been cool as a single player game but I have zero interest in what looks to be COD zombies reskinned.
Dino Crisis...
It took two seconds for my hopes to reach sky high and then to hit the floor again.
okay now get rid of all the multiplayer stuff and change the game completely into what I want and call it Dino Crisis and we're golden
It's not Dino Crisis so it doesn't matter who's working on it. If it was Dino Crisis and previous Dino Crisis devs were involved... you'd have something. This is just Capcom doing what they do best... twisting the knife.
Wish they were remaking Dino Crisis instead of this âšī¸
Second but unlikely thought...
Capcom is trolling Dino Crisis fans. Exoprimal is the multiplayer add-on of a Dino Crisis reboot. They're simply keeping the single player under wraps until they can do a bigger reveal at E3 showing off that the bigger project is in fact Dino Crisis.
They've done this before recently with RE Resistance via RE3 Remake. Still unlikely... but a thought.
@Uncharted2007 what you doing? Your giving us false hope... You should be ashamed. Haha
@Icey664 I laughed at the Dino's falling from the sky. Seriously reminded me of that really bad bug game years ago.. Earth defence force
@jFug I don't even think it's co-op. I think it's a weird PVPVE game...
From Exoprimal Twitter:
"Hello, viewers. Welcome to Exoprimal, a new co-op action game with a competitive edge.
Two teams of five players in powered armor battle hordes of dinosaurs. Only one team will survive.
Today's dinosaur forecast: Low. Have a pleasant day."
Hrmmm.
@Constable_What So like Umbrella Corps?
When it comes to multiplayer, I don't trust Capcom as much (the same thing can be said with Sony), but if they use MH as an example of a good co-op game, it could be very good.
Doesn't matter, this game still looked like generic trash.
@EquiinoxGII Look into Instinction. That should scratch your DC itch this fall while Capcom gets their crap together.
This game will be discounted fast and everyone knows it.
@RevGaming God I hope not.
Dragon dogma 2 capcom.make it happen.word up son
@Constable_What I have faith in co-op over pvp when it comes to capcom.
I don't think it's an actual pvpve. We didn't see them battling other players. Monster Hunter had competitive tournaments so..
@RevGaming from what I can gather you have two teams, and they compete to see who kills the most dinosaurs or captures the most objectives.
It sounds like PVPVE, but you don't actually fight other players.
Horror versus action coop shooter there is no shared DNA here just let it go the only thing is a woman with red hair and Dino's.
The grating sound when that dude's thighs chafe đŠ
The thing I like about Dino crisis is the survival horror aspect like with resident evil , this just looks like đŠ
It's not even the good kind of co-op; it's PvP with enemies thrown in as distractions.
@EquiinoxGII "Really bad bug game..." Oh you mean the cult classic EDF? One of those two series has released twice asmany titles as the other (10 vs 5) and way more recently (2020 vs 2003) AND has one coming out this year (making it 11 titles). Spoiler alert: it's not Dino Crisis. So which series is doing things right?
The dinosaur game from Capcom that no one asked for... đ¤Ļââī¸
I can't begin to describe how awful this game looks. Please no one buy this. Send a message to Capcom that Dino Crisis needs to return!
I think I may be one of the few people who is actually looking forward to this đđ
All I want is for Dino Crisis to get the Resident Evil 2 treatment. Is that so much to ask?
Still can't believe this is made by Capcom. They were on a roll with so many excellent games. Such a generic looking shooter.
Well, everyone drops the ball eventually.
Looking at Capcom line up. They're one of the few publishers without a live service games. This definitely looks like a live service games, so we was bound to get something like this eventually.
@Conor_Mcleod you're not alone đ a co-op dinosaur game from capcom sounds great
Yeah... i'm not too happy about this. If this is what they wanted, they should've just made a new lost planet.
I want a Dino crisis sequel survival horror and time travel twists. I don't want generic team shooter thanks.
"Producer"
You might as well tell me the accountant or the administrator is the same guy for as much as this means.
Is this the same thing as Resident Evil Umbrella Corps did they learn nothing. Their survival horror games sell great and what do they do they release this.....
@Uncharted2007 I doubt this is them trolling, but would be cool if that turns out to be the case.
