Lost Judgment is about to find a four-chapter story expansion, as SEGA has announced the Kaito Files for release on PlayStation 5 and PS4 from 28th March. The pricey $29.99 add-on – which will be included with the Season Pass and, thus, the Ultimate Edition of the crime caper – will see you “play as the muscle of the Yagami Detective Agency, Masaharu Kaito, and take on a new case that ties up loose ends of his past”.
You’ll gain access to Primal Focus detective techniques, and “two beastly fighting styles”, allowing you to crack cases with distinct Kaito swagger. “Following the events of Lost Judgment, Kaito picks up a lucrative case while Yagami is out of town that unexpectedly has him searching for his old flame, Mikiko,” the blurb teases. “Along the way, Kaito encounters Jun, a teenager claiming to be their son, and the pair team up to uncover the truth behind Mikiko's disappearance.”
As you progress through the meaty new campaign, you’ll find new collectibles, cut-scenes, bosses, and much more – it basically sounds like an all-new mini Lost Judgment adventure. As alluded to previously, Kaito’s Primal Focus means you’ll be able to search for clues using your senses, rather than gadgets – that means sniffing for scents and using your instincts. Can never go wrong with more Kaito-san.
Another game on my backlog that i need to play. Nice to see story dlc for one of these games tho.
Welp that's one more thing I need to play. I loved Lost Judgment and Kaito-sans the man so I'll definitely be playing this.
Hmm.... glad I waited on picking up this game. I had just completed Judgment (PS5) right before this one released and needed a break. Hopefully they announce a complete edition with this tacked onto the full game on the disc.
Nice, finally concrete info about this. Looking forward to it.
i started it up again this weekend to finish some of the school stories i didnt complete when i first played it. I can't wait for this one. Can never have enough content in RGG games.
Loved Lost Judgment when I played it on PS5, my favorite game out of three I've finished so far and this is a great excuse to return and play more.
I haven't played LJ yet. Do you think they'll release a new physical for this?
Didn’t I read somewhere that the actor was banned or something? I thought we weren’t getting any more LJ.
I don’t commonly buy dlc as I’ve usually finished and got rid of games by the time they come out, and moved on to others. If the price drops to a reasonable amount though I might get this. I’ve been waiting for the value to go back up before getting rid of the disc so still have it to hand and, amazingly, remember everything (having to finish it twice for the plat helped with that).
No way I’m paying this much though. Not for a few chapters. I’ll wait for it to drop to about £6-7 if that’s all this is. Also interested to see what the trophy challenges are; usually get massive value out of them in the main games.
@themightyant
That relates to Yagami's actor. It's something to do with his talent agency not wanting a PC version from the fear of what modders will do to him.
@Korgon let's just hope it was only a rumor, since it was never confirmed by RGG or Sega that actually is the last judgment game after the reports came out. I absolutely love both judgment games and would to see more in the series
No thanks. That €30 will go towards a new game rather than DLC for a game I finished last year.
@Lavalera
Agreed. Yeah it would be a shame to lose Judgment especially since Yakuza has seemingly transitioned fully into a JRPG. Don't get me wrong I still like Yakuza but I still enjoy the classic RGG gameplay Judgment brings too. Hopefully it was just a rumor as I haven't heard any news about it since around LJ's launch.
I have bought this game and it will be near the top of the list of games I play when I get a PS5, along with Nioh Collection and Ghost of Tsushima. Maybe the dlc will be on sale by the time I play it.
I've totally given up on playing new games for now. I'm just going to play through my backlog and play what I enjoy and not be held to ransom or stressed with checking every day for a PS5.
@Korgon Judgment should go away for a while anyway just because there will be a three or four year wait for any potential sequel. I can't imagine that potential PC sales are so significant that it would mean that a new Judgment game wouldn't be possible. Maybe they will wait and see if Kaito is received well as the protagonist and just replace Yagami.
I'm waiting out flexing before I dig into this, I still have the ultimate edition on my watch list I'm patient enough 🙂😜👍
@RubyCarbuncle it's the same deal with assassin's creed Valhalla expansion, they are taking the mick but it's wise to choose the best time and price to pounce on it
Will there be a standalone release of this? I would buy that.
Can they put these games on PC already???
Glad I got the pass when it was 30% off.
@Jango-Forest @Uncharted2007 Same plan here! Hopefully they do release a newer physical Disc that comes with the Season Pass DLC.
I really like this. I just don't like how you need the Detective pack to get three additional girlfriends. I suspect they did this intentionally (original game has 4, this one has 1 + 3 DLC)
Loved the 1st Judgement. Will wait for the complete edition of this one before jumping in. $30-40 in total
