Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok is, effectively, an expansion, so it perhaps won’t come as a huge surprise that it doesn’t have a Platinum Trophy. However, its meagre nine pots seem disappointing for something Ubisoft is billing as the biggest add-on in its stealth series’ long and illustrious history. Remember, this is retailing for $39.99, and is separate to any previous Season Passes.
The achievements, honestly, seem pretty time-consuming, too: you’ll need to see and do pretty much everything in the DLC, so expect to be spending dozens upon dozens of hours in the mythical world the French publisher has created. We know Trophies aren’t the be-all and end-all here – after all, if you’re picking this up next week, you’ll simply be looking to experience more time with Eivor – but it’s a bit disappointing to see such a huge add-on relegated to less than ten trinkets.
You can view the full list of gongs through here.

Are we technically spending any more time with Eivor in this though? I just assumed it was a Havi expansion.
Probably skip it for now but may get it later on in the year as other fill games coming out, new wwe game (not bought a wrestling game since 2004) new star wars logo plus potentially picking up baldurs Gate 3 on pc
So this isn't included with the Season Pass? guess I'll be skipping this then. Sorry I'm not prepared to pay €40 for some mediocre expansion at best. Far better stuff I plan to spend my money on.
40$ for DLC…no thank you
Disappointing but not a deal breaker. I am however hoping it ties into the mastery challenges and tombs of the fallen. I gave that woman Odins Eye and have three artifacts to opena door when i need like 6 but nothing been added to further this.
Why bother then?
I’m glad I opted to wait for a crazy deluxe, all-inclusive type bundle before buying this game. And then I’ll wait for a sale of at least 60% off. At this rate it might be a while but that’s okay, I’ve got plenty to keep me busy until then!
Have to imagine this will get a standalone release in the future, perhaps that one will come with the plat
How much is it in total? $150 for the game + season pass + dlc? I'll probably buy it on sales when they re-release it as a complete version in 8K on ps6... Or not
@Germs73 total rip-off
No offense, but it's DLC, so of course it wasn't going to have a platinum. Not sure why anybody would think otherwise.
The small trophy list is a bit disappointing, but oh well. I'll still gladly buy this at some point when it's on sale, as the content is the most important thing, and this seems to have plenty of it.
@djape If what they previously said was true, this will be as long as some games that sell for $60 or $70. It could have easily been it's own game.
With that said, I'm still waiting as I wouldn't be playing it when it releases anyways. I'll still be playing Horizon Forbidden West, and then the PS5 version of Cyberpunk 2077 after that.
Having no plat trophy doesn't bother me, but I will still wait for it to be $20 during a sale.
Yah this feels suspect. Has cash grab written all over it. A replacement for a new AC installment this year in the form of what amounts to dlc. Crazy that season pass holders got screwed.
Ubisoft discounts there garbo all the time, so Def wait if you are into the copy and pastemap icon chasing.
@AFCC to, ya know....play the game and enjoy it perhaps ?
@AFCC do you know any other games that had dlc with a platinum trophy?
Whatever happened to playing a game to enjoy it
If it were a standalone DLC I could see a platinum.
Hard pass. I don’t play games for fun. I play to log on to forums to say I only play games for a digital trophy that only exists on my account and profile for my console. That’s the sole reason I game. Games that don’t have trophies suck no matter how good they are and once I have a platinum I NEVER go back. Even sports games that are still fun.
This of course isn’t true but this is how ridiculous it is when people say pass on a game just because of its trophy.
@BeerIsAwesome Just out of curiosity in what kind of games not all Platinum trophies are that impressive. 🤪
@KingPev But its priced quite high almost full price.
It's not a standalone game it's a DLC so why would it have a Platinum? Really strange story to post
@KundaliniRising333 How are season pass owners getting screwed? They said the pass would get you two expansions and we got exactly that.
@BeerIsAwesome double flex to my 139 then.
In all honesty though, trophies just add fun to a game. Usually on stuff that you wouldn't normally do. I recently platinumed kingdom come deliverance, the being a virgin and not killing a single person was a great challenge.
Unless a game is stupidly easy like that mayo one I would only pursue trophies if I really really enjoyed the gameplay.
I love how binary some are. Just because it’s a DLC, it’s overpriced at €40? I’m not saying it isn’t but until we’ve actually seen it, it’s impossible to answer how much value it actually adds.
I mean, Fate of Atlantis for Odyssey added three completely new zones and 15-20 hours of gameplay and it was €25.
So just saying, if it’s 30-40 hours of content, then €40 isn’t that much compared to many other games.
I don't mind at all. This DLC hypes me more than any recent of future game release.
@BeerIsAwesome I really like it when i get one but i just taught myself some games or trophies are not worth it i Dragon Quest Heroes 2 it took me more then 200 hours to get to 95% and some weapons they just wont drop so i gave up. I sont mind a challenge but sometimes its just not worth it.
But i love me some indie games solid 30/40 hours with some fun and doable trophies. The Farcry ones are easy my biggest one are Dynasty Warriors Orochi 4 what a timesink, Dragon Quest Heroes, Playstation Allstars, Modern Warfare remake 2019, Killzone 3,Resistance 3.
Recently bought Odyssey Gold Edition for £19.99. Includes all DLC. Bargain. Pays to wait.
@GeneticMutation This guy Ubisofts.
@Flaming_Kaiser Likely because they said this expansion is massive and they feel it's worth it. If you don't think it's worth the asking price - wait for it - don't buy it. Welcome to capitalism.
@MFTWrecks once bitten, twice shy! Always, always wait at least 6/12 months before purchasing an Ubisoft game.
@GeneticMutation Amen.
@MFTWrecks Im not going to get it dont worry im sick of AC after Syndicate the only one i could stay interested enough to finish it all because of Evie. I bought the last RPG AC and somehow i cant bring myself to play it. Ubisoft are one of the developers where i seem not to finish a lot games besides Farcry 3. So for me im staying away from Ubisoft games dont worry.
@BeerIsAwesome Its more a thing where i play and play and it adds up and after watching the amount of time and effort i put in i just gave up. The first one was 100 hours and i had fun with the second one i was playing and had fun. But after a playing to long its like i put in so much time i want to finish.
I'm confused how Destiny 2's the Witch Queen with its $40 DLC and no plat (8 bronze, 2 silver) is good , but AC Valhalla's Dawn of Ragnarok with its $40 DLC and no plat (5 bronze 4 silver) is bad.
Especially when Valhalla doesn't lock out old paid content to deliver the new stuff.
No sheet? Of course it doesn't have platinum, it's still part of the dlc set for the rest of the game's trophies, the irony of what they are charging for this expansion is obvious 🙄🙄 especially for season pass owners
@MFTWrecks plot suprise! It's not worth the asking price!
@Uromastryx @KingPev calm down guys, was being sarcastic! But I do think this DLC is standalone and for 40 euros it should have plat
