It’s a big week, readers – a big week! If there’s one game at Push Square Towers that has us utterly spellbound, it’s the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy. And after waiting well over a year for fresh gameplay footage following a spate of delays, here we have it: ten seconds of Gryffindor’s common room, as a character gets out of bed.
Obviously, this is just a taste of what we’ll see during Sony’s huge State of Play broadcast later this week, but we’re hyped beyond belief. The room looks fantastic, with large stone bricks decorated with crimson red curtains. Presumably, as per open world cliché, this is where you’ll come to rest at the end of a long day – and, very likely, save your game.
All will be revealed later this week, on Thursday, 17th March, when the latest State of Play airs. You can find out what time to tune in courtesy of our helpful guide through the link, but do let us know if you’ll be joining us in the comments section below.

That's a lot of hype for what is a super basic animation/tease.
@MFTWrecks The calm before the storm.
While Quidditch would seem like a given, I hope they'll confirm it during the State of Play.
Damn it, the tease makes it even worse. Super hyped for this!
Does he sleep in that?!
Even though I don't particularly like the Harry Potter IP and its universe, I gotta say this game looks cool.
@Apfelschteiner I was thinking the same thing. I'm sure Ezio at least takes off his hooded robe before her goes to sleep.
I wonder how hard WB will go on monetization and forcing live service elements on it.
Even though I'm not a HP fan, and I detest Rowling and everything she stands for, I'm happy fans are getting a AAA adventure. It won't be for me however. * crawls back into The Lands Between *
Graphics does looks really good on that Teaser.word up son
Quite enjoyed the books back in the day, the films ranged from adequate to pretty poor and the franchise has been milked way beyond its threshold with the Fantastic Beasts films and other such dross. Plus JK Rowling is, well, she’s JK Rowling which, as we all know, isn’t all good …
… so no, I can’t say I’m hyped but if it’s good as a game and not another pretty cash cow then I may be tempted some way down the line but I’m sure there’ll be way too much better stuff to distract me.
Oh shyte, "open world". I'm out.
LOL all the hate from those that probably supported COD over the years and their um, indiscretions shall we say.
Looking forward to the SOP.
The game I hope for fans and the Dev team will be good?.
For me. I have never read the books or watched the film's. I literally have zero interest in bloody Harry Potter....
@MFTWrecks Exactly
Please be good! Please be good! 🙏
I grew up on Philosopher's Stone on PS1 and Chamber of Secrets + Prisoner of Azkaban on PS2, so would love for this to be a hit.
Also curious how they'll handle Quidditch. Could it end up like Quidditch World Cup but with full online play?!
@JB_Whiting She is quite a monster, but the fans deserve love.
@DarthKiwi I’m fairly certain there’s a massive difference between buying an Activision game in 2009 only for stuff to come out about Blizzard in 2020, and buying a game that comes out in the midst of overwhelming toxicity emanating from the woman behind the IP. Like without even going into sides there, that’s just a false equivalence.
Please be good, please be good, please be good!
Tune in on thursday "spate of delay". Good one XD
I'm rooting for this game myself. Think whatever you want about JK Rowling but it's not the devs fault. I don't like the idea of punishing the devs for a Twitter spat they weren't a part of. Plus I'm sure I have political differences with many developers... and I don't care. Disagreements happen. Welcome to life!
Very interested in the game and hopes it turns out actually good!
Really interested to see more from this. I have a feeling this game has a really good chance to be something special.
@nessisonett Who mentioned 2009?
See any comments from people who buy COD saying "Oh no, not gonna buy that anymore after the toxicity of their culture"
No of course not
Choosing to not buy Hogwarts Legacy because of the IP creator in the 1990's punishes hard working developers and artists etc. when they are simply passionate about the IP and creating a game off it and are not the IP creator people have an issue with. Madness.
We best be able to romance Hagrid.
@DarthKiwi Uh, yeah there absolutely are people not buying ActiBlizz products after all that. I used to put hundreds of hours into Overwatch until the story broke. Haven’t touched it since. The thing about this game is that the devs have already been paid. The money from the sales will go to the publishers, the execs and Rowling. Until they come out and say that Rowling won’t receive a single penny, no chance any of my money is going on this game.
WB Games x PlayStation
@ApostateMage This is taking place in the 1800s, so hargid wouldn't even be alive, much less a twinkle in his father's eye.
@nessisonett You say this while using the internet what is by run by people far worse then Rowling ever is but i guess your "morals" can only stretch so far. You have Playstation i guess? Well Sony are in a lawsuit right now over sexiem and mistreatment so i guess you're selling that PS right?
I know i do this a lot with people but i just can't stand hypocrisy and people who only do half measures with their so called beliefs. Just to be clear i actually agree with you on your views on Rowling and Activision but if i boycott a game because its writer said some bad stuff online i might as well not game because there's far far worse people then Rowling who are behind the games and consoles we love. Activision and Ubi are evil but the only difference between them and everyone else in gaming is they got caught.

Can't wait for this. Baring the gameplay looking like trash i will buy this day one!

@buckp25 in what way did it change your life?
@lolwhatno I strongly agree. Internet people have basically two emotions: love or hate. Nothing in between. It doesn't matter if someone has helped many or millions of people. As soon as they say something with which they (internet people) disagree, that famous person suddenly becomes the incarnation of evil.
There is no room for nuance or anything.
JK has supported the LGBT community more than most authors, but that's magically forgotten because hate and rage take over.
@naruball She finally didn't agree with the status quo and now she is a horrible person all of a sudden. Just reverse what's being said about her (praising her for defending her beliefs instead of how horrible she is) by a few people and imagine the vitriol and hate that would pour out towards them, a fine example of "love and tolerance" that we see getting preached.
Is it just me or is Twitter video always super low quality? I'm amazed that developers would want the first view of something to go out in that state.
@lolwhatno very well said. I tend to admire more people who change their mind, admit that they're wrong, bring up past mistakes than those who would rather die than admit that the other person was partly right.
@buckp25 that's amazing. Thanks for sharing.
@Jaz007 exactly! But arguments fall flat when it comes to people whose emotions seem to take over. It's impossible to have a rational and civilized conversation with them.
Am I the only one who thinks Harry Potter is a bit ****?
@lolwhatno people love a witch hunt, she basically stood up for women and got shot down for it
Still excited for the game, will be taking my last work break earlier tomorrow so I can catch the stream.
