Forget the metaverse – it’s all about the monsterverse now! Call of Duty: Warzone is gearing up for a new event, and they didn’t teach you this one during history class: Godzilla and King Kong are coming to duke it out on Caldera. The trailer is completely cinematic so don’t expect to glean too much out of it, but we’re guessing the iconic kaijus will be duking it out while you rifle through chests looking for meaningful loot.
The content, named Operation Monarch, will launch on 11th May, with more information to follow in the coming weeks we assume. Is this enough to pull you back to the Battle Royale at all, or do you need more intel? Pick a side in the comments section below.

Why is there a Godzilla Vs Kong promo in COD, didn't that movie come out, like, a year ago
They'll probably just fight in the background. Kinda cool, but not that cool.
Hopefully it's well animated and not just standing with an occasional punch.
It's definitely kind of cool even as somebody who doesn't really like BRs. I'll watch somebody else's gameplay of it. I just want to see the fight more than anything anyway!
I'll check this out. I'm not big on Warzone, but the idea is too cool to ignore. Also, is it me, or Godzilla not have his signature roar in that trailer? It felt kinda weak.
Stomp me now Kong
@Jaz007 same as me, I was expecting Godzilla signature roar aswell. This trailer one felt kinda off.
Uh what. Godzilla and Kong in COD
Sounds okay, but I need more intel before I come back to Warzone.
Remove the COD part and then we'll talk.
I'm a big Godzilla fan and have enjoyed COD for a decade or more but this is not a good mix. Then again, I never thought COD and zombies was a fit either......
Where's god of war state of play?
Did Activision literally read my suggestion? I think this is wonderful
Warzone used to be good.
Those days are long gone
Ridiculous
Nvm this I would like a proper Godzilla vs King Kong game instead.
Godzilla: <throws atomic breath at me>
me: <activates self-revive kit> "I'm back!"
Godzilla: "WTF??"
But seriously I'm gonna need more ammo for these two. Or just two giant throwing knives.
@Luigia: Mario style?
@Jackpaza0508 13 months ago actually, Godzilla vs. Kong released on March 24, 2021.
Couldn't care less about the CoD franchise but I do like Godzilla and Kong so I will keep an eye on this, by wacthing somebody's else gameplay of the event.
would not have high expectation from activision or whoever blah just been making cod for 20 plus years too ambitious zzz
God I hate these senseless crossovers with a passion.
