Shrewd PlayStation 5 and PS4 owners are currently stocking up on PS Now memberships to save significant cash when the service is rolled into PS Plus in June 2022. PS Now subscribers will be automatically upgraded to PS Plus Premium members when the change happens, with the top tier costing £99.99/$119.99. However, a loophole in the PS webstore is allowing users to claim a one-year membership to PS Now at the standard price of £49.99/$59.99, which is half of what PS Plus Premium will cost. Users are then stocking up on one-year subscriptions to save money in the long run.
Spotted by Wario64 and then documented on ResetEra, posters have revealed how they're stacking their PS Now subscription for up to six years, meaning they'll have PS Plus Premium for just as long starting in June. What makes this significant is that the standard PS Store on PS5 and PS4 only offers one-month trials to PS Now, so this loophole is saving users a lot of money. PS Now subscription cards have also been removed from retail stores, squashing any way of getting a yearly membership through the usual channels.
In order to take advantage of this loophole yourself, you must be logged into the PlayStation Webstore using your normal PSN account. If you're from the US, click this link. And if you're from the UK, you can use this link. You must do this through a PC and you have to be logged into your account for the purchase to appear — otherwise, you'll be sent to a screen that simply reads "not available for purchase". If it works, a box will appear on the righthand side of your screen with a "recurring subscription payment" tab for a 12-month subscription to PS Now. Repeat this process as many times as you like to stock up on years of PS Plus Premium.
Note: Those in the UK can benefit further by picking up discounted PlayStation Store credit to be used on your PS Now subscription purchase. ShopTo is currently offering the following discount:

Are you going to take advantage of this loophole and stock up on PS Plus Premium for the future? For much more information, all three tiers are explained through the link. As a quick reminder, the top tier includes PS3 game streaming and a back-catalogue of PS1, PS2, and PSP games. We shared our own wishlist for included titles over the weekend.

I bet that once I pay my credit card tomorrow and attempt to try this, Sony will have already closed this loophole lol
If you you head over to cdkeys you can buy a £50 top up for £45.99 too, saving you another 4 quid on a years sub. Im assuming that you can pay for it from wallet funds.
Maybe because I already have PS Now, I can only see the one month subscription option for $10. That's all I could see starting the day Sony made the PS+ announcement.
No luck with the US link here...
Edit: Going through Push Square's link gave me the error, but the one on Twitter got me through!
@LimitedPower can you post the link through twitter
@Elodin They have it at the bottom of the article!
@Kidfunkadelic83 Wonder I à buy these code if they’ll still work if I wait July to redeem them….
@LimitedPower i found it and got it to work through Twitter as well! Thank you.
Here is the link. Hope it works for others

The only issue here is we don’t know what they’re doing for stacked subscription years right? I’d definitely do this but there hasn’t been anything said about it other than current PS Now users get the upgraded version. I don’t want to buy a couple years then get screwed over. Unless anyone has any other info which would be great
@TheCollector316 they tried to remove the year subscription so people couldn't get the premium tier cheap, but this direct link still works to buy it.
For those who have already have multiple years of Plus stacked (2026 for me) but no PS Now, the smart gamble is to buy one year of this which I've just done - cost me around £42 thanks to discounted credit when I last topped my wallet up.
Worse case, Sony just merge the 10 months remaining of Now into that amount of your PS+ in June and the saving you're making from being on Premium for that period equates to the difference you'd have to pay to upgrade the Plus anyway, and you get to try the service.
Better case, your PS+ is separated and added onto the end (so you get longer on your plus after the year of Premium)
Very best case, all your years of plus are converted into Premium at the changeover (unlikely, but the chance is there and who knows)
However they do it, this is the best way to have the chance for good gains at no cost for people in that situation!
Link still working as of few mins ago when I did it!
@CWill97 the email that people with PS Now get says "If you don’t want your subscription to continue beyond your next payment date you can cancel at any time.", which means they'll have premium at least through how long they have PS Now, unless they cancel early.
@Milktastrophe
The link just takes me to an almost blank page that says, "Not available for purchase."
I really hope Sony does something reasonable for folks who already have years of PS+ who want a higher tier. There should be a way to upgrade.
Thanks, Push Square — I'm good until 2025👍🏽
It worked! Thanks Pushsquare!!!
***** like this is the reason you hav ppl doing micro transactions. you find all these ways to disrespect their business and then you complain when their expenses grow for the quality of games they make and they increase the price of them by ten dollars.
man, sometimes we just have to look at what we do, and stop thinking the corporation’s are so disgusting for trying to make sure their business is money..
For those having trouble (getting the page no longer exists error) — open the link (from Wario64) and open it in a web browser. It won't work if (your phone) tries to open it in the PlayStation app ...
@Gelly lol. Yeah, somehow I feel like these companies would be enforcing MTX on us anyway, to ya know, make even more money, but okay
@Gelly you must buy everything full price and never take advantage of sales, in order to support the corporations, right?
@eagletrippin
well you see, personally to me, the issue is right here. because you assume/believe every company is the exact same thing, run by the exact same evil dood, who is only trying to micro transaction everyone so he can buy a yacht.
i believe some ppl just want to make good quality products, and have a successful business at the same time, and there is nothing wrong with that. You live in a capitalist, free country.
Don’t think I’ll bother. It should go on sale for £70-80 at points anyway if Sony stay consistent. Plus, I doubt Sony will add games to the download library (separate from the standard plus subscription) at a rate to justify doing more than a “year on, year off”.
I’m also annoyed that my 2 years of plus doesn’t have any type of upgrade path, meaning by getting the top tier now I’ll effectively be paying for the basic level twice.
Eh, what the hell. Might as well pick up a few years for the hell of it. Don’t even know if I’ll be using the service extensively. But this deal is too hard to pass up on.
Got a retailer here that offers a 25% discount on $50 PS store credit. Stacked up on those, essentially got an additional 25% discount on PS Now. Sweet.
@Kidfunkadelic83 shopto.net have it for £44.85
Edited. got it working. Stacked it for three years. April, 2025. Altho it overlapped with my ps plus for one year. Are they going to convert ps plus subs to ps now for users that have both subscription services active? Anyways, still saved me around 150 euro if ps plus going to be wasted. If not, then saved me 180 euro.
@hoffa007 just checked shopto and I could only see 1 month or 3 months subscriptions there. Eeh
@Bamila nice. Price must have just gone down as i checked it 5 mins before i posted this. Very tempted to grab a year as i dont have plus due to not gaming online hardly ever but i wouldnt mind playing GT7 and giving returnal a go.
EDIT. Sorry i thought you put cdkeys. Yeah i ddint check shop to. Good shout.
It does not seem to be working anymore
@Bamila ah, I meant they do £50 vouchers for the price.
Unless you don't have PS+ already, how exactly is this saving money 🧐
Wouldn’t it be nice if they did a Microsoft and offer a one time upgrade for £1 which converts standard plus to premium plus. That’s how I got 3 years of gamepass for £70……. but it’s Sony we are talking about here so will never happen
@tezmanutd1987 I think people are hoping that if you stack Now at 60 dollars a pop for a few years, and it exceeds your PS Plus subscription that Sony will just merge both into the Premium tier even if your Plus runs out. There's a good chance of Sony just merging them from the wording of their announcement; practically guaranteed, but you never know.
You could save a a lot of money potentially, but you'd have to spend a lot to save.
@Fuzzymonkeyfunk I think you can still pull off that ***** (sort of, you have to buy one month of GPU for the regular price).
Let your GPU expire, stack up on Gold, buy one month of GPU and have all your years of Gold converted to GPU. Because Microsoft is apparently made out of money they don’t even bother closing that loophole. It’ll probably work until they decide to get rid of Gold altogether.
Additionally, if you feel extra cheap and sneaky you can purchase Turkish Gold (and GPU) and active with VPN.
Hey everyone, this didn't work for me but just tried it through a link on hotukdeals.com and it just worked (and i did it by buying a discounted £50 digital card from shopto for only £45. So worked as of 09:40 BST
https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/playstation-now-12-months-using-shopto-method-3914923
Doesn't work here in UK?
@thefourfoldroot they should be adding games every month. The email says "Your membership will include ALL the same great ... PlayStation Now benefits you enjoy today", and one of the current benefits, as listed on the PS Now info page, is "new games added every month."
@AK4tywill just tried that and worked for me, thanks. My plus runs out this week, so this was a great thing for me. Dont play online much so can easily go a few months without it.
@Gelly
To be fair you can't really blame people for wanting to save money. And it will help Sony in the long run. The more attention this service gains the more people will consider subscribing when news and word of mouth travels
Let's face it, Sony are awful at communicating and getting news out there. And even though I have no interest in a service, if it becomes a success that means more money for Sony and more games for us.
Doesn't work for me (UK).
@LiamCroft Do we know 100% that 6 stacked years of PS Now will transfer to 6 stacked years of PlayStation Premium?
I asked PlayStation Customer Service to confirm what will happen with my current 2 and half years of stacked PS Now and the reply I got was, we don’t have confirmation on this yet so we are unable to answer.
I was going to stack 4 more years but I’m worried that if I do, they will migrate me to Premium, but not for 6 years.
Insert Willy Wonka meme "you get nothing!!" gif for the territories that don't have PS Now! Just hope for those that can afford to stack the line up of games is worth it!🤞
The closest thing to a tease anywhere was apparently Insomniac's twitter with a ps2 Ratchet & Clank image,which would be a great inclusion with their ps2 back catalogue (& never made it onto the ps2 classics on ps4 range!)!
@Scouse_Pirlo @tomassi you try through the twitter link?
Just did this now @tomassi ... UK 11:55am
Went via the initial link at the very top of the article "stocking up on PS Now" and found this in the forum. It works.
https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/product/IP9102-NPIA90011_01-PSNOWSUBS00365V2?cartAction=buynow&skuId=IP9102-NPIA90011_01-PSNOWSUBS00365V2-E001&upSellService=NONE
Thanks, worked in the UK with the link on the reseteta post linked. Just stacked up on 3 years for around £127. That's less than the cost of 2 new PS5 games. Regardless of the library that has to be good value.
@Milktastrophe
True, although even currently there is no set number (with some months having games added that aren’t even mentioned); they’ve also started just taking games from the service randomly - although perhaps that is a temporary thing to do with the service changing.
For me though, I don’t have enough time to play by someone else’s schedule, so these services just don’t appeal generally. I might sub every 2 or 3 years to play a bunch of permanent additions.
Real quick. Please someone reply if I have this right.
My PS Now sub is expected to renew on the 17th of this month. My Plus sub ends on the 4th of May.
Is one of the loopholes saying that I can just renew my Now and be automatically entered for the PS Premium WITHOUT renewing my Plus? Or do I still have to renew my Plus as well to have the Premium status?
@Rafie According to the PlayStation Blog, just PlayStation Now,
PlayStation Now customers will migrate over to PlayStation Plus Premium with no increase to their current subscription fees at launch.
What that doesn’t say, and as I mentioned in this thread, PlayStation Customer Services won’t confirm, is how long they migrate you for.
For example, if you have 6 years stacked, do we get 6 years of Premium? Or will they just say you get the first year? Who knows!?
@SoulChimera I fully understand. I really appreciate the quick reply. Oh and that is a VERY good question. By all accounts, you should get 6 years of Plus Premium if you've stacked 6 years of Plus subscription.
Locked in til April 2026!
@SoulChimera if you did 6 years you get 6 years. Of course Sony won’t answer that , they don’t want people to buy psNow subs atm because they stopped selling them. But a person was able to get the link that allows you to get the year discounted price.
I got at least 2 years , I was on the fence of getting a 3rd year but idk how much I’ll actually use it. Streaming psNow games works pretty smooth on my internet though.
@AK4tywill Thanks man, thought I had missed out again until I came to your post
@twitchtvpat Cool, if that’s definitely what they are doing, I’ll buy another 4 years.
Edit: Managed to get an extra 2 years, so now I have four years.
None of the routes works now. Kicking myself that I didn't act on this when I heard about the upgrade from PS NOW when it was announced. I knew that I could buy another 12 months. My PS plus just ran out but I knew I still had a decent amount of PS NOW left. Turns out my PS now runs out in June! DOH!!!
Thanks for reminding me about the deal/trick, I went ahead and added on 5 years of PS Now before Sony disabled the loophole.
@SteveZ85 @Bamila @eagletrippin I'm set until April 2027! I would have bought 1 more year, but ran out of "fun money" to spend sadly.
@o8-bit_Munky @CupidStunt Unfortunately it seems Sony has noticed the loophole and plugged it.
Anyone who wasn't fast enough to take advantage, will either have to pay regular price for PS+ Premium or hope they have 50% off sales eventually.
@KidBoruto I've never bought Plus or Now at full price, too expensive for how much I actually use it. I definitely won't be paying £100 a year, but it's still going to be a huge payout to play older games. I'm not sure I'll bother with the top tier tbh.
There's a few comments around taking advantage of the loophole to rip off Sony, but I can't help notice that Sony just got a lot of money from a lot of people, for years worth of loyalty in advance! Almost certainly buying into the related deals and dlc in the process.
IMO I'd say Sony has done well out of the loophole!
@o8-bit_Munky my thoughts exactly. Sony doesnt mind at all.. reminds me of how Xbox even promoted a "loophole" to subscribe for 1 euro or something. They dont care as long as you commit to their ecosystem.
South Africa doesn't even have PS Now so I wouldn't have benefited from this anyway. I'm not going through an additional loophole by setting up different region accounts etc.
Glad it got blocked now. But it's so funny that the 'gold' rush actually just made Sony a bunch of money.
@o8-bit_Munky Yeah, exactly. It's a loophole, but hardly a 'convert your xbox gold to GPU for a quid' bargain of the century tbh. I grabbed one year just because I've never had now and I want to see what the fuss is all about when it launches.
Could have bought many many more years from a 'let's throw lots of money at Sony' point of view, but I strongly suspect a year will be enough, certainly for what premium brings. Can't see me being interested in old ass PS1,PS2 and PS3 games in the long term - nostalgia is never as good as you think it will be, especially with gaming! And as for the PS4/PS5 libraries - the bulk of that will be what's been on Now for years, and people haven't exactly been rushing to buy that in the past. Sure, they'll add a few more but probably games most players will already own or are not interested in, which is always one of the problems with subscription services. But FOMO is a strange beast on something like this.
People are very happy because they've 'tricked' Sony, paid up a few hundred quid and are locked into something like this for many years? Hmmm. I suspect Sony is laughing all the more
@o8-bit_Munky This is very true haha, I will prob be faceplaming myself if PS+ Premium drops down to $60 yearly during future sales.
@Scob Microsoft never closed that loophole. You can, to this day, get 3 years of Gold and then convert it 1:1 to GPU by purchasing one month of GPU. Essentially paying the price for Gold and get GPU (a little more since you need to buy one month of GPU for the regular price, if you already used the $1 trial).
I guess most people won’t bother/know about it for Microsoft to actually care.
And now it's closed. If you have an existing PS Now subscription you can now only buy monthly cards at 8.99 a month.
@TheCollector316 exactly
