The one noteworthy announcement to come out of the 505 Games Showcase for PlayStation owners is here: Miasma Chronicles, the next game from Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden developer The Bearded Ladies. It's launching for PS5 in 2023 — there's no PS4 version — and will once again be a turn-based tactical experience that sees you carefully choosing your moves and opportunities to open fire.
Much has apparently been learnt from the team's two previous development efforts, with many elements said to be expanded in Miasma Chronicles. Speaking in the Q&A section of a press briefing, a spokesperson said the characters and world building will be important parts of Miasma Chronicles. "We also made a big effort to make the game playable by a wider audience without losing what makes our games special. We also took note of feedback both externally and internally to make the gameplay even tighter than in our previous offerings."
In our Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden PS4 review, we awarded the tactical title a 6/10. "Hardcore genre fanatics are sure to get a kick out of proceedings, but those looking for a more introductory take on things will find more frustration than progress." Let's hope The Bearded Ladies deliver an improved experience this time around.

I loved Mutant Year Zero and enjoyed what they did with an already established setting. Will be interesting to see what the Devs do with their own world building.
I brought Mutant Year Zero as I absolutely love the X-Com games. However I hit a massive wall about an hour into the game and just couldn't progress and although planned to give it another shot I've yet to get back to it. I'll be curious to see how this one develops as I really liked the element of exploration between battles.
The hero kinda reminds me Cal Kestis from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
Yes please, loved MYZ and this seems right up my alley.
Mutant year zero is a 9 out of 10 for me.one of the best indie games ever made.this looks amazing as well.word up son
@BearsEatBeets You will hit a wall if you play it like any other tactical game.......its really more like a turn based stealth game. (If you go in guns blazing your going to die)
Im on the fence.....I did kinda liked MYZ to some extent but it was more because I enjoyed that weird satisfaction of clearing a zone. But less so the actually process.
It was very one one note.....find a solitary target.....used silenced weapons......hog rush them (knock them down) silence weps till they are dead (mind control if you need that extra turn)
Then repeat on the next solitary enemy.
Deviating from the tactic just results the whole zones enemies descend on you....resulting you get bodied.
I havent written off their new game just yet, deffo would wait for a few reviews to see if it end up what felt like a turnbased stealth game or something more varied
@Tomato_Goose I can understand why, he has a similar character design and outfit.
