A new update will get a rolling start in Gran Turismo 7 next week, and fans can look forward to the return of one of the series’ most iconic cars. Said vehicle is the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak, which first debuted in Gran Turismo 2 – a fan favourite for its ludicrous speed and robust shape. The other cars appear to be a 1932 Ford Roadster and the Gr.3 version of the Suzuki Vision Gran Turismo.
At just three cars this does appear to be a lighter update, and there’s no mention of any new tracks in series creator Kazunori Yamauchi’s tweet. However, we should get more information ahead of the patch rolling out, so don’t rule out additional content entirely. Are you still playing Gran Turismo 7 or waiting patiently for new things to do? How much is this going to cost?
Just platinumed this today. It’s been a great game and I’ll carry on playing as there’s a load of other content I’ve not even looked at yet.
I’d rather have some new tracks than new cars though and there’s some other things that need fixing such as not being able to save settings for a lobby or freezes when playing online. It would also be nice to have more than three daily races and perhaps have more variety in the tracks and strategies.
Even with those things it’s still a great game that should get better over time.
@brazzios_84 Free, it's just a patch.
I still play it but not as much. I want more city/road course before adding more cars. The online races need at the very least go back to the previous penalty system. Offline the AI is doesn't actually follow most rules and aggressively sticks to the racing line.
Think I’ll buy and Xbox series x for forza with ray tracing actually in the game
@Styledvinny79 ray tracing and shi**y visuals 😝😝😝
@Styledvinny79 yeah because that's the only reason to play a game 🙄
Bought this & traded it already. Last generation visuals & the new forza looks so much better. What annoyed me was I paid £70 for the game & then they increased the microtransactions. Disgusting
@theMEGAniggle yeah it looks much better plus damage to cars!!!
After the new Forza reveal i've lost much interest in this, that game feels like the Devs really pushed what the consoles can do while GT7 feels like a dated PS4 game where MTX is the no 1 goal. Like sure GT7 is a good game but Forza just reminded with that reveal why its the better series and has been since Forza 3.
@Ryany lol, *scratches to cars
@Ryany blatantly lying about the visuals
I got bored of this one sooner than any of the previous games. It was, for me, a rare day one purchase too.
@themuckman
Same here. I got tired of the same win starting at the end of the grid formula. I'm actually having more fun playing Project Cars than this to be honest.
@Yaycandy no watch the trailer because you obviously haven't it's real damage
@JohntheRaptor ahahahahha even friends have commented have bad it looks! Don't be a fan boy the visuals are ps4 quality not next gen at all!
A few of the top eSports racers including the current world champion have quit until sport mode is fixed. Might be a worthy story @get2sammyb
@Ryany Compare to 2008 Race Driver Grid. And you think this 2023 Forza game is so “next gen” lmao.
@Ryany there is nothing in Forza that looks better that GT7 apart from the reflections, because of in-game ray tracing. That being said, GT7 has ray tracing in replays too.
If you care THAT much about seeing fast moving ray traced reflections during gameplay rather than the actual gameplay (because I can guarantee you Forza Motorsport will play like absolute ass) then maybe you should rethink your priorities when it comes to car sims 🤷♂️.
Edit: I'm not dictating what games you should play, I really don't see what visuals in the new Forza look better than GT7.
Honestly Sammy just waiting for the lobbies to be working normally. The best thing (for me) to do is race with friends in 'leagues'. Also Gr.3 Suzuka adds another manufacturer to tha game too. Should find out if there's a new track, or even a new layout to an existing track next week.
@theMEGAniggle I don't own an xbox but it looks much better
I bought the special edition and really really wanted to love this game. I hope I go back to it and it grips me.
Since finishing the cafe menus I don’t play it as much, just occasionally usually to do some kart races!
It looks better than gt7. Ray tracing in the actual game - not replays - and proper damage
So 3 cars...? They'll be hagerty priced (you know, cos hagerty price real life limited availability cars. Everyone who owns a copy of this game technically has all the cars already) and most likely not usable in the majority of races... When are we gonna get new tracks...??? The GT series has so many excellent tracks yet all we've had to date is a different pit exit at Spa. Pretty sure this is another update that'll install but still not be played...
Could've been in their at launch but because it's live service they leave out content so they can drip feed it into the game lol
@WallyWest don’t get fooled by MS again so quickly. Forza will be a fantastic game fur sure (as always) but I wouldn’t get with the crazy hype so quickly. MS always shows stunning looking trailer but at the end the games aren’t able to hold that level on their console.
@Styledvinny79 major scratches. Haven’t seen any real damage in the nee Forza gameplay.
We don’t know yet how much RT there will be in the game. Why is it so important? Do you look at reflections on cars the whole time while racing?
@Reeneman Well every Forza game has looked stunning, Forza Horizon 5 for instance is one of the best looking games of the Gen so far. Either way though i shell be playing it on Series S so the chances of me playing it with Ray Tracing are very very slim.
Anyone else just waiting for a sale?
GT7 is a drip-fed mtx-riddled scam. $80CND for GTSport with a new front-end. And a 3 year wait for them to finish it. Ludicrous.
Felt disappointed in every GT since 5. #firekaz
@JaaackTommyyy this and the driver AI need sorting fast!
I'm still playing GT7 and am now 129 hours in. After initially getting gold medals for all the cafe events, I moved on to the other races, missions, circuit experiences and so on and I've completed most of that now. I'm loving my time with the game.
On track, in particular, the game has kept me coming back even when I'd thought I'd moved on to something else. I shied away from the longer races for a long time, but have now done all of that, with the dynamic weather and pit stops adding a layer of strategy to the action. Also, 129 hours in and not 1 penny paid on MTX.
I'm looking forward to the new content, hopefully some new events will be there too!
Nearly 200hrs and no way near done. When I say done, I mean in terms of interest. This game will be played regularly on my dedicated sim-lite setup (in fact I bought one PS5 just to not have to bother with setting up) for years to come (assuming community stays active and updates keep coming).
One thing I dislike about Gran Turismo is the inclusion of GT vision cars. I want classic cars not these fantasy things.
