Deviation Games is a studio founded by ex-Treyarch developers Jason Blundell and Dave Anthony, who worked on various Call of Duty projects prior. The studio announced Blundell's departure on Twitter, and details as to the reason why are scant at the time of writing.
Anthony will continue to lead the studio in his capacity as CEO, and Deviation Games also announced that Louis Castle would be joining the studio as Senior Vice President of Development. Castle co-founded Westwood studios, perhaps best known for their iconic strategy game franchise, Command & Conquer.
Sony Interactive Entertainment contracted Deviation Games to work on a secretive AAA project last year, with PlayStation head-honcho Hermen Hulst stopping by for an update as recently as last month, so the whole thing comes as quite a surprise.
What do you make of Blundell's sudden departure? What do you think Deviation Games is working on? Let us know in the comments section below.

There was similar news with Haven right before they were acquired.
Yikes. Sony keeps catching L's.
@JAMes-BroWWWn how is this L for Sony π.
@BamBamBaklava89 Ah good memory.
Makes you wonder if something is about to happen.
Perhaps they're working on a new shooter called "Duty of Call" or similar?
@sanderson72 "Cry of Responsibility"
@Shepherd_Tallon Likely just a difference of opinion and natural parting of the ways. One wanted to get
acquiredpartnered and the other didn't, or something even more mundane, happens all the time and doesn't have to be nefarious.Also may have been a clause in his contract to stay for X amount of time. It's been just over a year since the Sony partnership announcement.
this isnβt good at all
@themightyant Yeah good points. This is what I was thinking too, but I wasn't clear at all with what I was saying.
I was thinking that maybe it follows the same pattern as Haven did on their journey to the SIE stable - Either the person leaving did not want to be aquired and parted ways, or they were only there for the initial start up phase anyway.
Either way, no harm done.

Probably, but not necessarily
Could just have easily been been an acrimonious parting of the ways and Jason Blundell could have been the driving creative and managerial force. His exit could lead to an exodus of top talent... and all the other doom and gloom... /s
My point is we don't know, at all, so there's little point speculating/making things up to fit our own narratives.
See negative posts above.
Could be a difference of opinion, could be his duties with Deviation have been fulfilled, thus is moving on. Honestly there's a plethora of potential reasons for his sudden departure, my only hope is that there was no bad blood between everyone/anyone involved.
@sanderson72 Haha Sony to all the gamers fixing to leave Playstation because of COD "wait dont leave we have something just as good...Duty of Call" π
i'm excited for whatever they are working on. i think like what some one else said, this is a sign that sony is purchasing the developer.
Ngl I'm kinda worried. Hope this doesn't mean their project will be hindered.
