NBA 2K23 was already shaping up to be a gigantic package, between its Michael Jordan campaign and historical Franchise mode features, but of course there’s still MyCareer to consider. Much like last year, on new-gen consoles like PS5, you’ll be balancing your time between the NBA and your off-court activities. This is where rapper J. Cole will come in, as he cameos during the campaign, alongside Dreamville musicians Elite and Bas.
Amazingly, there’ll be a limited edition version of the basketball sim with J. Cole on the cover, although it’ll only be available at GameStop in the United States and Canada. “NBA 2K has long been a place to discover new musical talent through their game and continues to be a gold standard for showcasing all things basketball culture,” a chuffed J. Cole beamed. “It’s been an amazing journey to not only appear on a cover of this year’s game, but to be part of the MyCareer storyline, soundtrack, and bring the DREAMER brand into NBA 2K.”
Speaking of which, 2K Sports has confirmed the soundtrack, which will include artists like Drake and Megan Thee Stallion. “With three new tracks dropping every Friday, the NBA 2K23 soundtrack will feature a variety of artists, along with record label partnerships and integrations throughout Seasons,” a press release explained. The publisher’s still keeping details about The City underwraps, but all will be revealed next week, ahead of the title’s 9th September launch.

To be fair, he’s a professional basketball player in Canada. Probably should have mentioned that in their press release.
It better have Jake from iconic American based insurance company State Farm®
In that case, I expect it to be way too long, not that deep, and wildly overhyped.
While these storylines are usually pretty meh in execution, I do appreciate that 2k at least puts some effort into their sports game. But with the 9-10 month dev cycle you're never gonna get anything truly AAA in quality with these modes.
N.i.c.e.J cole is cool.one of the few new rappers i like.a lot of 🗑 trash rappers now.but j cole is a true mcs.he definitely reminds me of a 1980s or 1990s rappers.fabolous is cool also.but legendary rappers like the g.o.a.t 🐐 👑.nas escobar.rakim.raekwon.kool g rap.big daddy kane.jadakiss.krs one.ll cool j.etc.word up son
Don’t forget this game is infested with microtransactions in all game modes, filled with bugs, and will be on sale mere weeks after release.
I have never cared about the story line. It's always just a means to an end. But last story line was good, only because of the extra vc you could earn. Made grinding vc not as miserable as past years.
@BeerIsAwesome They always used to stick on those ‘inspirational’ sports movies when the teachers couldn’t be arsed in PE back in high school. Think I’ve seen Coach Carter, The Blind Side and Remember The Titans about 25 times but not by choice.
@BeerIsAwesome Friday Night Lights is a standout sports movie! The TV show’s brilliant as well.
@playstation1995 Yo I like Fab's punchlines, word up son.
Those faces look horrible i dont understand with these kind of money that it looks this bad.
@TheArt. Yes fabolous punchlines is amazing.fabolous is a true mc.word up son
@playstation1995 Don't forget Banks. Lloyd Banks got mad punches as well. Fab has always been fire tho!
@PlayStationGamer3919 They can't say that the story sucks compared to last year's version. No one would buy it. They gotta build that hype train, which usually runs off a cliff once you play it.
If it still has VC ingrained into progression, then no thanks
