Developer Krafton, perhaps best known for their genre-spawning battle royale PUBG: Battlegrounds, has released a concept trailer for the yet-to-be-officially-named Unannounced Project. This ambitious fantasy adventure game is based on the best-selling Korean novel, The Bird That Drinks Tears, written by Lee Yeongdo. We don't have a lot of concrete facts regarding the title so far, but the tone is cool as hell, and a far cry from the usual Tolkienian-inspired fare we see in the West.
The trailer shows the book's protagonist, Kagan Draca, the Nhaga Slayer, mercilessly dispatching a group of the serpentine Nhaga, creatures inspired by East Asian Folklore. The violence, shown in such incredible graphical detail, is fairly shocking, even for jaded veterans of countless video game battlefields like us.
Considering the developer is still looking for partners to bring this particular title to life, this one is likely a long way off. Still, what do you make of Krafton's Unannounced Project? Commit heinous acts in the comments section below.

Popcorn is extra crunchy after that.
I really need to know what she did wrong.
Bit strong for me tbh
What a complete waste of time. They are supposed to be advertising a game, or at least a concept to a game and this tells me nothing, and does nothing to put it on my radar?
There's not even a story hook that's going to pique interest.
Unless someone is looking for a future beheading simulator, this is instantly forgettable.
What a 180 from their last game, can't accuse this developer of playing it safe that's for sure.
After replaying TLOU 1 remake and part 2 back to back, the gore on show here seemed very tame.
TLOU II has a certain realistic brutality and shock factor to it's violence that no game has yet matched, every kill made me take a second to realise what I'd done.
This looks really interesting, I hope the team can make the game as good as this concept trailer
I dont like to kill innocent people especially not in this brutal way and certainly not without context so for me this does more damage then create hype.
@Flaming_Kaiser I'd hope you don't like killing people at all, period
@NeThZOR In games i killed many, many, many people but even in a game i dont like to kill innocent people. She may not have been human but this is not ok for me. Even in Manhunt its a horrible person but you still get a hint of humanity and you dont kill innocent people.
Is this just a serial killer who targets women? Because... **They don't understand his pain**
That's the vibe I'm getting from this
Wow, that dialogue was terrible.
M for mature is rare and very much welcome. Going full auto on a bunch of zombies is fun, but does nothing on the scare factor.
I like the introduction here, it sets the tone and I can't wait to see more.
Seems cool, but it's just a concept CG trailer for a project so.....
Egads! Horribly mutilating a woman by ripping off her head after butchering all the others in this female tribe? (or whatever it is).. it sends a pretty vile message without context of why this is happening. The fact that her head is still alive as her tears fall down is a touch that adds to it's uncomfortably brutal cruelty. "Not cool" comes to mind as a phrase.
Visually though, Unreal 5 is quite a leap forward. Its impressive that way for sure.
Well, that was more tame than Mortal Kombat and kinda similar that the Witcher.

Might be getting soft in my old age, but that felt all wrong to me.
Seems cool enough. We don't get ultra violent games that much now outside of the usuals (doom and mortal Kombat, even god of war is tame compared to what it was) and I do like my dark fantasy so I've got my eye on this one. But obviously it's just CGI so it's hard to get too excited.
Might check out the book though, if there's a good English version anyways.
Yes yes yes, we need to see more games based on Eastern fantasy and myth. No idea if it’ll be good, but welcome the attempt.

That was too scary for me. I'm fine with killing random people in games, but I've never seen their faces or facial expressions before killing them and in this trailer it looked too real, I didn't feel comfortable watching it.
Zero interest in this for now, wake me up when it's a real game with confirmed title and date.
