SEGA held its own live presentation as part of Tokyo Game Show today, and among other things, the publisher showed off a little more Sonic Frontiers. Releasing on 8th November, the game is nearly here, so fans will appreciate another glimpse at the open zone platformer before it arrives.
After showing the latest trailer once again, SEGA presents some live gameplay. We get to see how solving simple puzzles will reveal parts of the map and unlock new routes, encouraging you to explore and find these quick conundrums. Huge enemies will be waiting for you, and these battles essentially have you working out how to get on top of the beasts before dishing out some damage. You can also just abandon it and go somewhere else if you want, which is nice.
We also see a Cyber Space level based on Chemical Plant Zone, which provides a burst of far more intense gameplay, similar to previous titles. Completing these stages and their objectives will net you special keys which are required to unlock the chaos emeralds, which are a big part of progression this time.
It's not looking too bad, honestly. We went hands on with it at Gamescom and came away cautiously optimistic, but how are you feeling about Sonic Frontiers? Tell us in the comments section below.

Got to love how the boost bar is literally identical to Breath of the Wild’s stamina bar design. There’s taking inspiration and then there’s this!
I only said yesterday this game looked like it was shaping up well after that last trailer they put out. Definitely looking like it plays much better but I'm not sure how I feel about the game being put together this way. It all looks a bit incoherent and cobbled together for the sake of having multiple elements from multiple games lumped into it. Not sure about it now, but that's just me though.
