Day of the Devs has, somehow, been going for 10 whole years. If you're not aware, it's an event orchestrated by Double Fine Productions and iam8bit that shines the spotlight on upcoming indie games. Over the years, this has manifested as live, in-person events as well as digital broadcasts. The last couple of those have been attached to Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest, but soon it'll be hosting a duo of its own events to celebrate its big anniversary.
On 3rd November, a Day of the Devs digital showcase will go out across YouTube and Twitch. This will, again, put the spotlight on indie titles heading our way. If it's anything like the show from a few months ago, it'll be worth tuning in. Additionally, on 5th November, an in-person event will take place in San Francisco, California. This will be the first physical show for Day of the Devs in several years, so if you're in the area, we imagine it'll be a fun time. There's no word on what games will feature in either event, but it's sure to be a great mix of weird and wonderful stuff.
We'll be tuning in for the digital showcase, but what do you think? Are you excited about these Day of the Devs events in November? Tell us in the comments section below.

I would like to see Sony do impromptu State of Plays for Indie games instead of staggered Blog posts.
It doesn't need a big build up, just a few hours notice but I think it's a more effective way to showcase certain games.
Outside Sony's and Ninty exclusives, and PSVR2, indie games are what I got most excited about. Indie devs are far less risk adverse than the AAA studios and keep the entire industry fresh. Support the indies!
I'll probably check this out. Indie games really are the future and the last beacon of true games. Now that Sony is going the way of live service there really aren't anymore AAA publishers not trying to chase that unicorn.
I hope year after year for more indie games to be truly indie games instead of small studios cashing in on FADs with a few gems hidden in between. Hopefully this won't be another year of over 20+ 2d side scrolling metroidvania/souls clones or garbage horror stuff.
It's getting old. We have enough copy and pasted content in the AAA sphere, it's sad to see it just be a less resource intensive slew on the same in the indie sphere. Regardess, I am sure the gems will be cool.
