Wild Hearts, the Monster Hunter-esque title from EA and Koei Tecmo, has a brand new gameplay trailer that runs seven whole minutes. It's our best look yet at the upcoming action RPG (set to release in February), showcasing the general flow of a hunt.
As shown in the video, Wild Hearts will support online co-op play for up to three players. With allies in tow, you can coordinate your attacks and build some devastating 'karakuri' together — mechanisms that can be constructed both in and out of combat. It's a neat idea, and the focus on quickly crafting tools gives the game a more recognisable identity.
How do you think Wild Hearts is looking? Watch out for the boar's charge in the comments section below.

Damn, that wildboar's huge. It also reminds of the Boar God from Princess Mononoke.
looking forward to it, if its close to mhw id be super happy.
This game looks amazing.wild hearts looks amazing word up son
This actually looks better than I expected. I’ll wait for reviews on it before I take the plunge though since… I mean, it’s EA and Koei Tecmo. It looks more up my alley than Monster Hunter is and I’m looking forward to seeing more.
This looks both great and janky at the same time. I'm all about that!
I’ve got over 600 hours in Monster Hunter Rise and watching this gameplay gives me the impression of Cautious optimism but I’ll need to see a hunt in full motion, see if weapons have proper combos and unique mechanisms and see if the game will give players the reason to come back, hunt monsters repeatedly and to hone our skills. High replay ability and strong build diversity are two of the main reasons monster hunter is so hard to replicate, but as stated earlier we’ll have to wait to see!
The game looks good, it also makes me hope that Koei will make a Toukiden 3. A guy can still dream can't he lol.
@SpaceDonkey I’ve played my fair share of single player and multiplayer in monster hunter and can say personally I prefer single player hunts. When I play MP I spend half the hunt rolling around just to get in range of monsters just to hit them as they constantly change aggro, especially fast monsters where the hunt feels like a fiesta. But SP is where it’s at, just you and the monster where it only targets you, yes it’s technically harder but you won’t have anyone interrupt you during a hunt, you get to master a monsters move set and keep improving your kill times, it gets so addictive that I’ve hunted some monsters over 100 times and can get through hunts without ever healing. Single player is so rewarding and unless this game forces players to team up, these types of game can be enjoyed by literally anyone!
Lol I'm glad they showed how wonky the camera gets when you go under a giant enemy because that's how it gets in every video game ever
And that poor frog reacting to getting carved 😂
It looks so beautiful and the art direction is amazing. I can't wait
looks dope. hope its more accessible than mh. I started mh world for the first time, i chose the bow as my starter weapon and it didn't end well. I eventually got overwhelm by the tutorial and just rage quit. didn't touch it since.
@KaijuKaiser My man, that’s exactly how I do it, but nowadays I like doing both depending on what I feel like in the moment. Rathian is my punching bag whenever I make a new build or learn a new weapon, I’ve probably hunted the species to extinction. 😂
I was tired of the feudal japanese setting with MH:R, and I am still tired of it.
Looks interesting. The graphics look very poor in places though!
Gotta give it to you, EA, you old scoundrel - this looks pretty good! I would have to lure some friends to play it as well though, as playing with randoms in this sort of game can be a drag in my experience.
Anyway, I've been looking at some other hunting games lately... Toukiden or God Eater, what is the best series, fellow hunters?
ea making it will be multiplatform wont even look this good on release
