Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is reportedly still on track for a March 2023 release on PS5. That’s according to journalist and industry insider Jeff Grubb, who let the tidbit loose on a recent episode of Giant Bomb's Game Mess Mornings podcast.
As the conversation shifted to companies recognising the benefit of single-player games featuring shorter, more focused campaigns, Grubb brought up the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, noting the anticipated sequel is "still on track for that March release date as we've been saying this whole time. As EA has been saying in its earnings reports to investors this entire time, the big 'partner game' is coming - that's always been Star Wars Jedi: Survivor."
This prediction lines up with earlier reporting after Twitter backend scraping account PlayStation Game Size turned up references to a late February/early March release for the title in the backend of the PlayStation Store. However, whether that ends up being the actual release date remains to be seen, as EA themselves remain silent on the matter.
Does a March release for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor sound realistic to you? Considering the title has been in development since 2019, a 2023 release date does sound reasonable enough. Embrace the force in the comments section below.

be more interesting if there is a save migration from first game to this one. i love how thats done wirh mass effect. it was a bit of a disaster on the xbox360 for some peeps it worked for me but it didnt work for a friend of mines.
I am surprised that it is supposedly releasing so soon from now. They haven't shown any actual gameplay footage or much of anything thus far.
Titbit. One day I'll read titbit on this site 😄
March 2023 date would be terrible imo, since the same month as Resident Evil 4 Remake.
I hope it gets released in April instead, there are no big AAA games dated for April at this time.
Im playing Fallen Order right now. Is it just me or is it really confusing to navigate the various maps.
Hope they iron that out in the sequel
@Rob_230 it is a chore to navigate them sometimes. Especially the tedious backtracking, more so going for collectibles etc. I also hope this is much improved on in the sequel!
Hope they make the customisation mean something to gameplay this time. For example sabre handles giving attack bonuses, or them gross ponchos affecting health or force juice.
Does Jeff Grubb really still have any credibility as an "insider"? After his whole "Zelda blowout" nonsense earlier this year I'd take everything he says with a gallon of salt as it's mostly just guess work.
@Rob_230 It was perhaps the most common complaint about the game. Can't say I had a ton of problems with it myself but it's definitely not just you.
@Rob_230 no its not you..that map was next to useless. They nailed just about everything then forced that hideous map design on us..
Just found out that Fallen Order and GoW3 was directed by the same guy. Both great games, and I've got high hopes for Survivor.
@KidBoruto this will easily outsell the RE4 remake.
@daveofduncan Don't be so sure! Fallen Order and REmake 2 both sold around 10 mil. It could be a tight race.
Can’t wait for more details on this one. I enjoyed fallen order a lot. Didn't have so many issues with the maps like others in the comments section, but the game was such a breath of fresh air for SW games for such a long time. So bad that Bobba Fett & force unleashed 3 got cancelled after Disney bought LucasArts. Here's hoping for a Star Killer cameo in the sequel.
@daveofduncan @JB_Whiting I don't see myself buying Resident Evil 4 Remake, not at full price anyways. I still need to play 1-3 and the Zero prequel.
Meanwhile I've already played Fallen Order, so I can jump straight into Survivor.
@Northern_munkey @Voltan @mac_da_man yeah its just a bit bizarre. As a jedi, i would have thought it would make some kind of sense to have a force mechanic by pressing R3 that would allow you to 'sense' the direction you need to travel in (like ghost of tsushima - or to be fair, most games released over the past 5 years or so). It just gets annoying getting lost in a maze looking for a route back to your ship.
@KidBoruto You don't need to play the others first to enjoy 4; it's very much its own thing; story wise it's almost completely standalone.
Shorter more focused campaigns!! Its about time devs took notice at last. Not every gamer wants open world grind fests, and not having to invest 80+ hours into a game.
@JB_Whiting While I do understand that, I am very OCD about playing games in release order. Thanks for trying to help though!
