It’s been a big, banner year for first-party PlayStation releases, and while the slate of upcoming software has dried up a little bit, Sony’s banking on its catalogue of critically acclaimed first-party exclusives to pull it through the holidays. This promo video centres on several of the firm’s biggest titles, including God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, and Gran Turismo 7.
We can see this spot running in cinemas over the holidays, as it feels pretty epic, doesn’t it? It’s got a bit of a sci-fi, space age flavour to it, with the arpeggiated synth soundtrack and sombre voiceover. It’s been a good year for PlayStation, though, hasn’t it? Let’s hope the company continues on this track moving into 2023 and beyond

That is pretty epic.
This is why I'm a PlayStation fan.
As much as I'm a fan of how Sony has become the place for "Naughty Dog type games" in a way similar to how Nintendo is the place for 2.5D platformers, not sure I like that pic of GoW:R, Uncharted, TLoU and Horizon for showing the breadth of Sony games. Unless they're promoting PSASBR 2, then it's great.🙄
And next year we can add PSVR2 to that EPIC list!
Great video!
Missing a trick not including Spiderman / Miles Morales here
Definitely can never go wrong with the quality first party titles Sony puts out. Almost 50 hours through Ragnarok and so far it’s amazing.
Play will take me back to last gen apparently
Saw this and thought it was a showcase announcement
That's the Playstation showcase for 2022 folks! This is the hour long show we've been waiting for all year.
What game shown has you excited? What was your top pick from the showcase? I can't wait for all these to release.
😒
Love that Ratchet / Aloy transition at the end. I booted Ratchet yesterday in the 120 Hz VRR mode @4k 40 fps. Good lord, this might be the best looking game I've ever played tbh. And the frame pacing is pretty much perfect unlike in Horizon. Feels so smooth despite the 40 fps target.
Pretty much sums up why Playstation has the best exclusives, not even showing all of them. Awesome!
Sony really does summin special to you inside when they make advertisements this is overly cool
I should really start some of my backlog to end the year...
Where will play take you?
Back to my PS4 Pro apparently...
@rjejr they also showed GT, so there was some variety?
Interestingly their best game (imo) was not in the list: Spider-Man. Nor MLB The Show. Guess they wanted to focus on IPs they actually own.
Omg all of those games look so crisp and stunning presented together like that, especially when all you're currently playing is Skyrim 👀 definitely going for Horizon Forbidden West or God of War Ragnarok next, unless they add TLOU to PS Plus Extra 😍 Old games are cool and all, but you can't beat when a great game
stops you in your tracks and makes you gape at its graphical beauty 🫢
All running fine on PS4 welcome to 2020. Yawn
@LBIGFELLA didn't know Returnal and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart were on PS4.
I'm sure the other games do run just fine. But I'll happily take the non existent loading and graphical options, the Dualsense is a far better pad to play these games with as well.
Patience and the landslide of PS5 only games will come!
@MightyDemon82 playstation could make cross gen games well into 2023 as long as they don't tell me a interactive pop-up book is the best they can do for the year like some other companies are doing I'm good.😁
@MightyDemon82 2 games, wow. PS3 had like 10 at this same timeframe, and PS2 even moreso. When it comes to next gen releases this is the weakest generation ever so far.
Great promo, has me excited to try out the PlayStation exclusives I've yet to experience.
@Tharsman "they also showed GT"
I did read that, haven't watched it yet, but the pic on th etop of the page I'm looking at has the 4 I mentiuoned. Since there hasn't bene a new Uncahrted game in awhile probably would have bene better to replace that w/ GT which is a bi tnewer and shows some diversity. As it stands that's 4 3rd person perspective action adventure games.
Imagine if they had Star Ocean, Final Fantasy 7R, Dragon Quest 11 and Tales of Arise? Four recent games, but basically all JRPG. 🤷♂️
@rjejr I mean, 3rd person cinematic adventure games are what Sony and their fans pride themselves on, those are their big sellers and few people buy a PS5 because of Sackboy or GT. Although then again, same holds true about Clank, so all I can do is try to guess a theme for the omissions. At least omitting The Show and Spider-Man tell me they wanted to focus on owned IPs.
PlayStation the GOAT! Not like that greedy, slimy Xbox trying to make a video game monopoly! Love me some PlayStation!
