We're just starting to think about our Game of the Year coverage here at Push Square, but our lovely community already has something you can contribute to and potentially win: the annual Screenshot of the Year Competition. Organised by regular reader RogerRoger, this is your opportunity to share the best screenshots you've taken throughout the year across any console and platform — it's not limited to PS5 and PS4!
Submissions are being taken now on the Push Square Forums, where you can submit up to four captures across three different categories. The entry deadline is Saturday, 10th December 2022 at 7pm GMT. The categories are as follows:
This is a broader replacement for the previous Action category which can cover any shot of any subject, so long as what's in the frame has a dynamic feel to it. Caught a character looking over their shoulder at a cool angle? Managed to capture a bolt of lightning in a thunderstorm? Those kinds of shots could also be considered alongside a bunch of brawls, chases and explosions, so long as they're dynamic.
Many of you enjoy getting a bit abstract with objects or environments, as well as character models, and it's about time we had a dedicated category for such shots. Again, this covers multiple pre-existing categories; we could be looking at a monochrome landscape here, or an extreme close-up of a particular protagonist, so don't panic about needing a degree in fine art to submit something to this category! It's all art!
Perhaps the most popular request to date because hey, we could all use a good laugh in winter, right? Whether you've spent hours mucking about with a Photo Mode's pre-set character poses and facial expressions, or whether you've captured an unfortunate-looking glitch, or maybe even some ragdoll physics gone awry, share it with us in this category and we'll put some of the funniest forward for consideration.
Have you captured a screenshot you think could compete in any of these three categories? Feel free to submit it in the Push Square Forums and you could be a winner! Thank you, as always, to our community for putting such a good thing together and actively getting involved. We'll highlight all the winners here on the main site when they're announced. So, without further ado, good luck everyone!

Many thanks to Rog for organising this again, I’ll need to sort through my photos and find something!
I have no idea how to post screenshots in the comments
I never really take screenshots, but always love to see what people enter always some good stuff. Look forward to seeing the entries.
Sounds intriguing
This is the real reason why I love Christmas. Looking forward to seeing some great snaps.
Cool!! I will round the pictures I took and post later!
Unless I am doing something particularly awesome when a trophy pops, I never have anything to contribute! Looking forward to seeing the submissions though.
This is fun! Can't wait to see the winners.
Thanks for organising Rog and thanks to the judges!
Quick question.
Can I use USB Flashdisk to copy my PS4 screenshots ?
I have never done this before.
@Anti-Matter
I guess yes, you can.
I have an external hard drive with USB, and I copied my videos and saves to my drive on Ps5.
I assume you can do it on ps4 too.
Just search on YouTube something like that " How to copy data from ps4 to USB."
Not good at VG Photography, and frankly rarely use Photo-mode if I'm busy enjoying a game. But I love seeing how creative others are with this. Good luck to all who enter.
