As we're in the throes of the holiday season, the UK's physical sales charts haven't moved all that much. In fact, the first six games in the top 10 are the same as last week. This means FIFA 23 is number one once more, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is second, and God of War Ragnarok is sticking to third.
Not super interesting, is it? Well, there are some movers and shakers in the latter half of the chart. Sonic Frontiers exited the top 10 last time, but has made a return, now sitting in seventh place. Meanwhile, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion has dropped from eighth all the way to 30th.
We expect the physical charts will remain fairly sedentary for a little bit, but there are a couple of big January games which may stir things up in the coming weeks. Here's the latest top 10 in full.
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 26th December 2022
- FIFA 23
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
- God of War Ragnarok
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Pokémon Violet
- Nintendo Switch Sports
- Sonic Frontiers
- Pokémon Scarlet
- Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
- Minecraft (Switch)

alot of kid xmas type present games and most at sale price
Good to see God of War Ragnarok still holding strong.
Good to see Sonic still hanging in there! But yeah the rest looks par for the course. I gotta give some props to Mario Kart 8. I know it's a juggernaut franchise for Nintendo but it's seriously impressive how much of a money maker it is and has been for a while.
Might be just because the PS5 copy is sold out. At least where I'm from, no retailer has PS5 copies of Crisis Core.
switch sports was my worst purchase of the year. Kind of wish someone at Nintendo had farted in case instead of inserting the cart, would have had more fun guessing what they had eaten that day then playing the game itself and the fart would have also been released complete.
Seeing quite a few people checking out Sonic Prime on Netflix, no doubt that's likely a drive for Sonic Frontier sales, and vice-versa.
@IndoorEnthusiast Why is it so disappointing? I've seen others say similar things to this.
@Korgon I think it's a sad thing that utterly broken releases stay high thats a great thing to show the big companies that gamers will swallow anything.
I wonder where GTA V is these days? Was always a regular for so many years kinda miss it...
Sega was very smart for slashing Sonic Frontiers price 2 weeks after launch. Should have been $30-40 from the start. It being so mediorce, most people weren't touching it at $60.
@Flaming_Kaiser
Utterly broken? Which game I mentioned are you talking about? Mario Kart is polished to a mirror sheen at this point and sure Sonic has some terrible pop-in and could stand to get a touch up here and there but I certainly wouldn't call it broken.
For the record I agree that I would prefer devs ship a properly working game at launch too.😁
@IndoorEnthusiast this is an insane comment 😂
@get2sammyb it's lacking in games compared to Wii Sports Resort, much like Mario Party and their Mario sports titles on Switch, they're just lacklustre compared to their 10 to 20 year old counterparts
Mariokart is rubbish though have you played it?. I didn’t even finish the one race I started before realising this ain’t for me 🤢
