If you already own Hitman 3, then it’s a good day: you’re getting all of the content from Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 for free. Beginning from 26th January, developer IO Interactive will rename the third entry in Agent 47's most-recent assassination adventure to Hitman World of Assassination. If you’re yet to purchase the game, you’ll be able to buy everything in one go starting from the aforementioned date.
This means, moving forwards, there’ll be two products on the PS Store: Hitman World of Assassination and Hitman World of Assassination Deluxe Pack. The former will retail for $69.99 and will include all maps and content from Hitman 1 Game of the Year Edition, Hitman 2, and Hitman 3. The latter is a DLC pack which will include the Hitman 3 Deluxe Pack, Hitman 3 Seven Deadly Sins Collection, and Hitman 2 Expansion Pass. That’ll cost around $29.99.
So, there will be just two products available, massively streamlining the somewhat complicated array of purchasing options available that have plagued Hitman for some time. As a result, the original Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 will be delisted from the PS Store, although you’ll still be able to download and play them in their current guise if you already own them. And all of their content will be included in Hitman 3 for free moving forwards, as outlined above.
Ultimately, if you’re yet to play these games, then the newly renamed Hitman World of Assassination will keep you occupied for hundreds of hours with its impressive 21 maps. And with the rogue-lite inspired Freelancer mode still to come in 2023, it’s looking like another fruitful year for gaming’s most prestigious slaphead assassin.

Great news.
I've got my fingers crossed for a PSVR2 patch as well!
@LordAinsley Oh my god, yes please!
This is such fantastic news. These games had so many various editions and bundle it was actually ridiculous. So making it this simple is a brilliant call. Other devs/publisher should take note of this.
Will it be wise to buy Hitman 3 now then as it’d be the cheapest option right?
yes, PSVR2 support, please !
I also would not mind a new location.
Such a quality game. Really hope they update to PSVR2 as well. Would be amazing with a better control scheme and visuals.
Mm I already bought 1 and 2 to play in Hitman 3, but have only played one mission. I should really wait with buying games until I actually plan to play and finish them.
On the one hand this is great news. On the other the Hitman trilogy has been repackaged and sold in so many different ways from Episodic to bundles that it's hard to keep up. Hopefully this one package will skip all that BS and finally make things simple.
Great but a kick in the teeth for those that supported and bought all this content since Day 1.
@itsfoz That's correct!
@WallyWest I mean, not really. I get where you're coming from, but ultimately you've been able to play the game for years, and have had the content in Hitman 3 for at least two years.
It shouldn't really be a surprise that people who waited are getting a better deal — that's the case with pretty much every product ever, right?
@itsfoz deluxe edition is on sale right now on store and cheaper than standard edition.....I think?
I’ve a predisposition to buying Hitman games without ever bloody playin em. Every.damn.time I never learn; even bought a GOTY version of one I already had just some I could integrate them all together under Hitman III launcher but now they’re all under one roof I will get around to em. I swear….
Do you think there's a chance that those who bought 1 and 2 will get a discount on this new collection?
Also the great thing about this is that both Hitman 1 and 2 will both be upgraded graphical the same as Hitman 3. I already own Hitman 1 and 2, don’t own 3 but completed it when I rented it so I’m not sure if this will be worth it to me?
@get2sammyb Is this even necessary when there is already a Trilogy bundle which is essentially the same as this? I feel for those who may have bought the Trilogy for £79.99 before seeing this news when you can buy Hitman 3 in the current sale. Also what about people like me who already own Hitman 1 and 2 but want to buy Hitman 3 one day? We’re going to have to pay more for the other two games that we already own? That’s BS if true, at least let us buy it at a heavy discount.
@itsfoz If you don’t own any of the first two Hitman games then yes you would be wise to buy Hitman 3 Deluxe Edition for £26.24 in the current sale.
@get2sammyb I just feel they have heavily pushed all the paid content only for 2 years later to give it all away, could be wrong but i swear HM1/2 content was in the Xmas sales?
That's great news. Makes things much more simpler, as it's always been a bit of a mess in terms of different games and editions. Plus those with only the third game are now getting a lot of new content to play.
Great support from IO, and I say that as someone who bought all 3 games separately. And we still have the new mode (also free) coming in February.
Bought hitman goty edition & got hitman 2 free with ps plus haven't bought hitman 3 because it's not been cheap enough for me to be tempted & I've been anticipating it being a ps plus game eventually since the first 2 already have been wish I could play the hitman 1 & 2 levels in vr though without needing to buy 3 , does this mean the expansion pass for 2 will be free ? I don't have that
@WallyWest
Why? i buy all hitman games day one. I think it's great games to play and I'm glad I can support the developer with that. Most people who have Hitman 3 already have parts 1 and 2. No one will mind that parts 1 and 2 are added now. Unless you're really stingy by nature, of course.
@Would_you_kindly There's a free Hitman 3 Starter Pack that you can load 1 and 2 into. I think that will give you VR.
@mrraditch yeah I downloaded that & then imported 1 & 2 into it but you can't play them in vr unless you buy hitman 3
@WallyWest it’s been out for ages and it’s about time. It really all belongs together and it’s overly complicated and too expensive to buy them all together after this long. I bought Hitman 3 at launch.
Glad to have all the confusing Hitman 3 DLC bundled together. Whenever that goes on sale, I can get it all at once.
@itsfoz
For the amount of content you are getting now yes yes yes, buy Hitman 3
@EaglyTheKawaiiShika since you'd have played it already , i would think thats a no on the refund.
@MaccaMUFC annoyingly, the trilogy bundle only includes all of the base games, not the DLC content. Which makes it by far the most inconvenient way to buy the games if you're remotely interested in the DLC, because DLC never seems to get the price cuts you might think it would (prime example is The Witcher 3. Before the PS5 version came out, it was £7 for the GOTY edition, £5 for the base game. But the DLCs were both reduced to about £3/£5 ish as well, so if you already own the base game you would have to spend about as much to get all the DLC as you would buying the GOTY edition in the first place)
Never played any of the Hitman series but always intended to…so this is indeedly good news…just ordered Hitman 3 PS5 new for £19.99 of Amazon…so that’s a bigass bargain Batman!
@get2sammyb
So, I own everything listed above except Hitman 3 Seven Deadly Sins Collection. So should I buy it at the current PS Store sale or will i get it for free when they delist current games from store? I'm confused (as always lol)
Smart move on their part, should make it easier for new players to jump right into it.
