Ken Block, the legendary American rally driver, has died.
His team, Hoonigan Racing, confirmed the news on social media this morning. Block died from injuries sustained during a snowmobile accident. He was aged 55.
"Ken was a visionary, a pioneer and an icon. And most importantly, a father and husband," reads the statement. "He will be incredibly missed."
Block was a talented rally and rallycross driver, but found success in many other areas. For example, any will know him from his YouTube channel, where he regularly showed his skills behind the wheel of various vehicles, navigating obstacle courses and other daring stunts.
In the world of gaming, Block featured in a number of Codemasters' off-road racing titles, namely the DiRT franchise. He features in DiRT 2, DiRT 3, and DiRT Showdown, which are heavily influenced by his 'Gymkhana' stunt driving.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.

Rip Ken.
I would suggest people to watch some of his driving videos on YouTube. A talented guy.
Read this shocking news earlier.
His stunts and challenges were amazing. Search out his top gear stuff, and also the challenge series he did, Elba vs Block with Idris Elba.
RIP Ken.
Sad coincidence that we also lost the previous face of Codemasters Rally games - Colin McRae
Sad news! Loved his gymkhana stuff in the DIRT games.
@Bu1ld0g And sadly Richard Burns too, another great rally driver who left us too soon (cancer), who also had at least one licensed game to his name.
That is really sad news a proper legend who will not be forgotten. RIP Ken.
His Netflix show is great also.
RIP Ken Block
Tragic. Rip Kenny from the block
R.i.p my hero. Will be missing a lot
