Enhance Games has announced two of its titles, Rez Infinite and Tetris Effect, are making their way to PS5 and PSVR2. Both of these vaguely rhythmic arcade titles are getting current-gen upgrades, and will be available as PSVR2 launch games.
To give a brief recap: Rez Infinite is essentially a remaster of the classic PS2 game, in which you fly through cyberspace blasting enemies to the beat of the electronic soundtrack. It also features a whole new section called Area X, which allows for more freedom of movement and sets up some spectacular encounters. Meanwhile, Tetris Effect is the game we all know and love given a gloriously vibrant coat of paint, and set to a gorgeous, evolving soundtrack that blurs into the gameplay.
Both games are excellent whether played flat-screen or in VR, but we imagine the PSVR2 versions of these will be to die for. If you own either of these games on PS4/PSVR, you can upgrade to the PS5/PSVR2 versions for $9.99, which isn't bad.
They reinforce a launch lineup of nearly 40 PSVR2 titles, which is pretty crazy. Will you be chilling out with this pair of trippy titles on PSVR2 and PS5? Tell us in the comments section below.

I just bought Tetris Effect on Switch Oled last week and enjoying it, after having tried and passed it on PSVR with PS Plus premium. I wonder if the 10$ fee applied here or if they won't consider I "own" it.
@Pat84 They confirmed in their blog post the upgrade costs $9.99 USD / €9.99 for owners of the original game. So I would take that as a no.
Not a bad deal at all.
Rez (vr)2 when?
REZ
What a classic game and the newer level in PSVR was fantastic.
Rez is my all time favorite game. Simply can't have the experience anywhere but gaming. It is the quintessential game experience imo. I will upgrade to experience it in VR without hesitation.
Can’t remember if I own these or have them via plus or Extra. Either way, it‘s really good they’ll be available for new players. Don’t think that PSVR2 upgrades will add much though (unless eye tracking is used for aiming in Rez perhaps). The big jumps are in resolution and reliable motion controls, which doesn’t have a big impact on these stylised controller games.
@Pat84 Nice. Tetris Effect was my first purchase when I got my SWOLED. Also played it on PS4, but not VR. I imagine it's incredibly immersive, though.
Rez Infinite: As many others, I got it for free via Play-at-Home. So this 9.99 offer is also valid to me?
Grabbing that Tetris effect and kayak game for sure
@Max_the_German It should be, those games weren't a part of a subscription service or anything, you just got them at a 100% discount.
@Ralizah Yeah, on PSVR, it is kind of the complete experience, and it will do the trick for me now, but I mostly play the Switch version on my Switch OLED these days, perfect for short sessions.
Both games are incredible! Well worth a pick up for new PSVR2 gamers.
Upgrade fees aren’t an issue anymore?
How strange that the narrative has changed. Guess JK and Hogwarts is the new flavour of the month haha
@Jacko11 Still kinda gross, but at least this is an actual upgrade for incompatible hardware with different controls/sensors/inputs present vs PS4 to PS5 "upgrades" that just unlock full texture resolution and performance/res settings.
OTOH it's a $10 upgrade for a tetris game most of us paid $15 for to begin with, 5 years ago. Which makes 'upgrade" a questionable term.
I might try both of these but what I really hope for is Beat Saber launching sooner than later
I've played the area X part of rez so many times it's really good. Though the fantastic music is one of the biggest draws.
$9.99 isn't a "small fee" to upgrade relative to the $30 digital RRP... $5 would be small. If there was extra content $9.99 would be justified but this is stupid, especially when one title is over 20 years old now!
I've bought Rez on PS2, 360, digitally and twice physically on PS4. But yet I'm supposed to pay a third of the digital price to unlock what is essentially a patched game? Heck, that's probably more than I bought it for outright on Xbox Live!!!
