Like most of the PlayStation faithful, we are massive fans of The Last of Us franchise around here, both the iconic video games and the excellent new TV series from HBO, which has exposed an entirely new audience to Naughty Dog's grim vision of the future. Another dedicated fan of the series is the rapper Logic (who claims to have beaten the first game no fewer than 15 times) and has revealed in a new video how he "conned" his way into a role in The Last of Us Part II, something we were vaguely aware of back in 2019.
The video itself is quite an interesting watch; Logic claims that he conned his way into the role, but really, he used various connections within the voice acting community to get an introduction to Ashley Johnson, who, of course, portrays Ellie. From there, Logic secured an invitation to Naughty Dog HQ to get a sneak peek at Uncharted 4, where he met Neil Druckmann, who he describes as "the nicest guy ever".
Logic mentioned to Druckmann that he would literally "play a trash can in your game, bro", and from there, managed to parley an audition for the still-in-development Last of Us Part II, reading for the part of Jesse, Dina's former flame.
While unsuccessful, Logic did receive a call several years later from Naughty Dog and was offered the role of Bobbie Hall, one of the Rattler antagonists featured during the game's epilogue. He describes the experience of being on set and the surreal reality of playing a part in his favourite gaming franchise which, admittedly, sounds totally awesome.
How far would you go to secure a role in your favourite game? Let us know in the comments section below.

@Grimwood odd take..and very narrow minded...not everyone is the same as you sunshine
Love this guy, video was a fun watch. He’s very funny and his music’s awesome for those who have yet to check it out. I know it’s easy to come down to the comments on posts like these and go “who??” but Logic really seems like a good dude.
@Grimwood How exactly does playing a game multiple times “spoil the experience”. I replay many games for multiple reasons. Obviously the story beats are not going to be as impactful the second time but the gameplay can still be enjoyed potentially forever.
What if it’s not a story driven game, a game that relies solely on gameplay? What’s wrong with playing them again?
I constantly replay the Resident Evil game, all the FROMSOFT games, the Nioh Games, the Hatsune Miku games… they never get old.
Your take is weird and myopic.
@Grimwood This has to be one of the most baffling comments I’ve ever read on here. What? 😂
@Arnna
Apparently I'm not a fan of Doom because I finished each game about a dozen times lol.
@Grimwood say what?!..
@Grimwood one of the oddest comments I've read. I'm apparently not a Final Fantasy fan because I've played them multiple times I should have just played it once to show that even though I love playing them 😂😂
*HHH theme plays…
🎶It’s all about the game & how you play it…🎶
@Grimwood Not to pile on, but WHAT?!
You must have replayed the same game over & over again as a kid. I know I played Pokémon Blue at least 10 times through.
There’s also 3 versions of TLOU. OG, Remaster+DLC & Remake you add in trophy collecting (speed run, grounded,…) & I can easily see how someone would get to that number.
@Grimwood I suppose your idea of the ultimate Fortnite fan is someone who won a match once, and never touched it again
I'd go on, but I think it's pretty clear by now what the comments section thinks of this..
@Grimwood this gotta be the worst take i’ve ever seen across all of PushSquare and its sister sites.
Ridiculous.
@Grimwood you gotta stand up and own that one!
@Grimwood what a weird comment. I treat my favorite games like my favorite movies and experience them whenever I get the urge to play. No exaggeration I’ve beaten uncharted 2 probably fifty or more times,UC 3 at least twenty I think at last count,UC 1 I think four times,UC 4 7 times and lost legacy 5 times. On the topic of tlou I’ve beaten the first at least ten or more times across ps3,4 and 5 and part 2 I’m up to six times. They are some of my favorite games ever from my favorite developer so I love playing them but I’ve also played through the mass effect trilogy tons,the ezio trilogy,dead space etc. the point is if you love a game why would it be a bad thing to play it more than once
I must say, I'm really not a fan of the original Star Wars trilogy, totally spoilt it for myself by watching it many, many times over the last 40 odd years.
Can't stand James Bond movies either, seen so many of them...
And don't get me started on Nutella!!
You guys need to relax and stop dogpiling on @grimwood for having a different opinion that objectively defies logic, guess I must be part of the problem watching The Lord of the Rings trilogy over 30 times 😂 I jest of course, I know how it feels getting too many replies over a single post and can get frustrating very quickly.
One of the worst rappers in modern times. Almost as bad as @Grimwood’s take!
To con someone is to lie to someone and try to deceive them. Generally not something to be proud of.
@Grimwood Congrats! We're not even 3 weeks into 2023 and you already have secured the award for worst comment of the year!
Well done grimwood for having the most replied to comment in the history of push square.
@Grimwood I think there are... different ways of appreciating games. Among my absolute favorite games, some are endlessly replayable, and some I go back to only rarely so as not to spoil the amazing vibes from a fresh experience.
So, I do understand what you're getting at, even if I don't think it's entirely true.
Pretty cool.
Logic seems like a nice person. Glad he got to be associated with something outside of music that he clearly loves.
@Grimwood Ummm, sure, dude. That's why "real fans" of musicians only listen to a song once and then never again; why "real fans" of genre literature only read a book a single time and why sports fans never, ever watch replays. Deep thoughts, there, for sure.
Seriously, tho, congrats: your post has to be one of the most simple-minded, transparent versions of the "No True Scotsman" logical fallacy ever posted, which is saying quite a lot considering the times in which we reside.
I'm just here to dunk on @Grimwood
@Grimwood I've re-read this comment many times, in an attempt to understand it. It's ruined it, if I'm being honest.
@nessisonett
His first few albums were decent, after 2015 though he fell off HARD.
Removed - flaming/arguing
@nessisonett Definitely not one of the worst. Far from it.
@Shadowmooneh Logic only exists to inflate Spotify-made playlists for people that play Fortnite.
Unfortunately, I never got to read @Grimwood original comment. But I assume it had something to do with replaying game multiple times.
TBH I only ever play a game once and move on. I’ve never replayed a game multiple times through unless I didn’t beat the game all the way through the first time.

@nessisonett Logic dropped a 30 song album that was very good, your favourite rapper could never
