The Last of Us is very much back in the zeitgeist, which is of course down to the TV adaptation that's currently doing the rounds. We've only seen episodes one and two so far, but the reception has been fantastic, with a large viewership giving the franchise a new wave of fans. As a result, the games are beginning to return to physical retail charts.
While they've yet to reach the UK's top 10, the rise in sales of the games means The Last of Us: Part I and The Last of Us Remastered are in 20th and 32nd respectively, and we fully expect the trend to continue upwards as new episodes of the show roll out.
Speaking of that top 10, God of War Ragnarok has moved to third, while FIFA 23 has been bumped down to second place. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is down two places to fifth, and Grand Theft Auto V has been knocked down to 11th.
Here's the latest top 10 in full.
UK Sales Chart: Week Ending 21st January, 2023
- Fire Emblem Engage
- FIFA 23
- God of War Ragnarok
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
- Pokémon Violet
- Nintendo Switch Sports
- Minecraft (Switch)
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Pokémon Scarlet

Now we just need a native Last of Us 2 port, even if just so we don't lose a lot of SSD space to the mysterious "other"
@carlos82 a native ps5 version will be very welcome. Although the outcry online would be negative again. I can see them release it if a next season will follow the events of part 2.
Looking forward to platinuming it again since i see it used for around 20 quid now
Bravo to Fire Emblem!
Really curious where Forspoken is going to place next week.
I suspect most of the top 10 reflect pack in games sold with systems. Good that F.E.E tops the list. ReLly have to consider the purpose of a sales chart that does not include digital purchases. You tend to pay more day 1 for a digital copy.
Why would they release a native PS5 version when they'll be doing a £70 remake next year?!
@Martijn87 @carlos82 after paying $50 for the PS5 Part 1, and loving every min of it, i would be in line day one for a PS5 Part 2. I know gamers will complain, but let’s be honest they will complain about anything, so we might as well get what we want.
cant see the point of a ps5 version of last of us 2 its already gorgeous to look at and runs at 60fps on ps5.
and yet gain what is the point of physical only sales charts when 2/3 of sales are digital
@Grimwood
True, its really weired.
Hey I just watched "Friends". Now I want to play "Friends" the Game!!
Who the f... does that?
I love Arcane because its such an amazing, mature show but never in my life would I play that colourful pile of dogcrap called League of Legends.
@trev666 I'd take it even as it is but it'd take up far less space for a start as a native PS5 app
Oh good, I always hoped this series would get the recognition it deserves. I feel like I was the only one that played them!
@Toypop it's releasing on PC in march, and funnily enough you can get a £40 ish pre order fairly easily, as it's only priced at £50 and you can get a steam key from a third party seller (e.g. Green Man, Humble etc) for cheaper
Kind of a kick in the teeth for PlayStation fans though, giving it to users on a completely different platform who never got TLOU and r Remastered, for cheaper
@Chimhog
Facebook Marketplace. Seen people selling used copies for £20-30 range regularly. Bristol area
Engage is incredible so I’m glad it sold well.
I was against the remake of TLOU PT 1 but I managed to pick it up fairly cheap and triple dipped because it's one of my favourite games ever. I own TLOU PT 2 but never played it as I heard negative things about making the PS4 sound like a jet engine. I'm one of the few actually hoping for a native PS5 version so I can keep my PS4 copy sealed and collectible.
