Have you ever wished that Tim Schafer and the other rockstars at Double Fine Productions would release a monstrously in-depth documentary chronicling the development of Psychonauts 2? Hyper specific, but thankfully if that is the case, you're in luck, with just such a series releasing over the weekend.
PsychOdyssey explores the ups and downs of game development, providing a human look at a world even hardcore gamers rarely get to see; the daily trials and tribulations of a studio developing a game. Comprised of 32 episodes, ranging in length from 20 minutes to almost two hours and compiled from more than 5000 hours of footage, PsychOdyssey was filmed daily over the course of seven years. The entire thing is live now on YouTube and is required viewing for dedicated Psychonauts fans and pundits of the industry.
What do you think of Double Fine's efforts with PsychOdyssey? What other studios would you like to see document an upcoming game in this fashion? Meticulously record every detail in the comments section below.

13 episodes in … love this stuff.
@munkholt would you recommend it for non-hardcore fans?
I love and fascinated by game development but I don’t have a lot of time that’s why I am asking if it is worth it.
@Dr-M Well, it IS really long, but I am not a hardcore fan either. The production team was embedded and clearly becomes close with DoubleFine, but still a separate unit. There are some tough, heartfelt and awkward moments in there, but I would recomend it for the insights into the development process (and it goes /deep/!) over the drama. Watching the first few episodes will give you a good impression I think.
