Square Enix has a playable demo for Final Fantasy XVI planned, and it'll apparently launch around two weeks or so ahead of the full game's release. According to these very early details, as relayed by the ever-reliable PlayStation Game Size, you'll be able to transfer the demo's save data over to the finished product, which will presumably unlock exclusive items — or something like that.
We say that because it's unclear whether this will be a specifically designed demo, or whether it'll drop you right into the start of the game. Based on our freshy published Final Fantasy XVI preview, we're thinking there's more chance of it being the former, potentially giving players the opportunity to put the game's fast-paced action combat to the test.
You may also recall that Final Fantasy XV had a unique demo of its own.

Hope it's better than the garbage FF15 demo!
I hope its a unique demo as i want to go into the game fresh. And square can be a bit quirkier and fun which might not suit the tone of the main game
@Rob_230 the Bravely Default and Bravely Second demos were both great, 10 hour+ experiences that were separate to the main game but (in the case of Second in particular) set up the story of the main game.
"you'll be able to transfer the demo's save data over to the finished product"
The best kind of demo. Will try it.
I'll definitely get the demo as I still need some convincing on whether or not to buy the game.
Nice move and probably meant for the non-fans who might want to try this. I need no incentive but will probably play it just to avoid any minor spoiler on the web.
Lol XV had like 3 different demos 2 of which differ from the main game. What I'd give to play the episode duscae demo. It's version of duscae looked kinda prettier with the more vibrant colors
If it was like XVs demo where it let you explore a good chunk of the open world, that wouldve been amazing. I'll take what I can get tho. Anything to play it as soon as possible
@Rob_230 don’t play the demo if you want to go in fresh. Duh
That's good news actually, I know I'm not the only one this game seems very contentious to, so it's a good chance to see if it's more on target first hand than it appears.
On the other hand, I played the Forspoken demo........this surprises me......
I mean, PlayStation demanded that all AAA games release demos, right? Not sure how well that went, but companies like Square, they will be more likely to comply, I imagine.
I might try it as a complete FF noob
2 weeks from release? I think I better play the full game rather than spoiling myself from the demo. Unless the demo is in the early part from the game and I can continue using the demo save file in the full game.
Unless it awards you with an unique item, I’ll pass because this is an automatic Day 1 purchase anyways
@kyleforrester87 @Rob_230 Fingers crossed that is the scenario at play.
If the demo is just the first chunk of the game, I will be passing.
@KidBoruto yep, doubt it though!
