Blumhouse Productions is a multimedia company responsible for some of the biggest horror movies of the last two decades, including M3gan, Get Out, Paranormal Activity, Sinister, Insidious and The Purge. It was announced today that the company would establish a new gaming division called Blumhouse Games.
Blumhouse Games will partner with independent game developers to produce and publish smaller titles in the style of its successful film model, creating "original, horror-themed games for console, PC and mobile audiences" with a budget of $10 million or less.
Newly-minted Blumhouse Games president Zach Wood has a background in games, serving as a producer on such titles as PREY: Mooncrash and The Unfinished Swan. Hopefully, we will see some high-quality releases from smaller creators in the years to come.
What do you think of the announcement of Blumhouse Games? Are you a fan of the kinds of movies Blumhouse Productions has produced previously? Try not to scream in the comments section below.

Well, this has my FULL attention.
All for a steady supply of horror games and giving smaller developers a platform. Might see some really interesting things come out of this. The movie record is spotty but they do have a couple of gems.
Today was already going pretty well. But this news just made it better. Really interested to see what comes out of there.
Great the worst horror movie producer is now making games this'll be great 😑
The way that headline is structured sounds very passive aggressive (like: GET OUT! REALLY!?!?!) XD
This does sound very interesting though: I've always been a fan of watching licensed horror games on Youtube (too much of a wuss to play them myself) and the movies these could pull from have a ton of potential for interesting gameplay. Colour me intrigued to say the least!
Blumhouse films are always pretty hit and miss (more often misses, I’d say), but if there’s any concern to be had it’s that Jason Blumhouse’s business model has always been low cost, fast turnaround, which I think we all know is probably a recipe for disaster in today’s gaming arena.
how you sign up lol
I've only ever seen 2 of their films. Plenty of others that pique my interest, but I never got around to watching.
The Purge (2013)
Halloween (2018)
