Metal Gear Rising 10th Anniversary 'Event' Teased

I just want a MGR remaster/remake. That game was such a huge surprise and more people deserves to play it.

This game needs a remake! The full treatment, incorporating the dualsense's haptic feedback, for crunching spines and slicing melons. An overhaul on graphics and textures, trophies, and some work for the final boss fight to make it less of a joke (in terms of difficulty, rather than zany humour) and I'd be all over it!

I want a remake or remaster of the game, just give me 4K & 60 fps on modern console (and pc) and I'll be really happy

I've been desperate to play this game for YEARS. I love Platinum's library of games, but have never had the opportunity to play this, since I've only got a PS4, and my PC just isn't good enough for this. Praying that this is an announcement of a remaster!

WoW I am surprised people love this game so much. Should probably give it a try since I like both Metal Gear and Platinum Games. I hope it’s announced as a remake.

I really hope its some remaster or remake news. I got it on steam earlier last year but kept crashing every 10 mins so got refund. I'd really like to play/complete it again. Still one of platimums premium works imo

This game sure deserves a remaster AND a sequel. It obviously deviates from the classic Metal Gear gameplay, but the story fits the universe, and the game is FIRE!! A really good (even if short) time.

That's quite the hot take. Revengance was...fine but I wouldn't even put it in the same ballpark with any of those other series best titles. It's better than Ninja Gaiden 3 and DMC2 so that's something I guess.

Even though I wasn't a big fan of this game, just seeing anything Metal Gear related would make me happy however. I really miss Metal Gear!

Metal Gear super fan here, not so much a platinum fan.

I played Revengeance when it was released and sort of enjoyed it despite the absurd name and all around overarching absurdity (even for metal gear!).

Would be happy to give it another go if they are they are doing something!

@nomither6 I'd be happy with just smooth framerates at higher resolution, and the ability to slice things/ people into even more/ tinier pieces! Haven't played it since 10 years ago, but I recall it was quite brown? A bit of grey might brighten it up a little! 😉

They did a remaster of Vanquish to celebrate the 10th anniversary of that game which is a promising sign of this stream perhaps revealing a MGR remaster.

@Korgon I just think the action and set pieces is done better in MGR , it’s …cinematic and flashy . i heard DMC has more depth , i don’t think it’s still enough to make the game look as interesting in comparison . and the new god of wars i definitely think MGR is better than ; the old GoW? absolutely debatable, Dad of war ? HAHAHA no

u can say MGR is all flash and no substance i guess , but goddamn is it done extremely well and the MUSIC

Just as it was in the case of Dead Space, as much as I wish I had, I never got around to playing Metal Gear Rising on PS3. I’ve now got to play Dead Space on PS5 (at least I will when I’m out of hospital) and I’d love to do the same with MGR. Let’s hope this upcoming anniversary event doesn’t disappoint… but I’ll be keeping my expectations in check just in case.

Uuuggghhhhhhh I've never had a proper chance to play these games and I'm a huge MGS fan... I'd love for chance to finally play these!!! Would be stellar to get both in one package or something. I don't care I just want to play them on a console with a controller in front of the TV.

I do agree that the music was good and it certainly had plenty of flash to it. I mostly just didn't care for the combat and the throwaway stealth mechanics. The story was also a bit too wacky even by Metal Gear standards.

It's a shame too because on paper I should have loved this game. I was hyped as heck going into it since I love Metal Gear and I love character action game like Devil May Cry and Bayonetta. Maybe I just overhyped myself back then.

great game. likely just a ps4/ps5 remaster incoming. the pc port was excellent and corrected the framerate issues with the ps3 version so a remaster isn't really needed other than for physical collecting on playstation.

@Korgon MGR is a great title but it is not gonna beat something like DMC in depth of its combat. The stealth sections could've definitely been taken out though.

@Korgon late reply but i gotta say that makes sense. i know next to nothing about metal gear (or DmC) and went into the game with a completely open and blank mind , so i'm not disagreeing at all that MGR is a mediocre game to more knowledgeable players for lack of a better word. but from a pure hack n slash standpoint and just playing a game ? thats where it checks all the boxes , just pop in the game and play with a short and sweet story . i believe we need more games like this as a balance between the narrative driven games y'know . games that are designed to be replayed multiple times on different difficulties and to unlock more gear.

This comment section is a lot of what is wrong with modern gaming.

@nomither6 Agreed. MGR's fun factor definitely surpasses the likes of gow and dmc. Dmc may have the deepest mechanical pool, but nothing in the series compares to being blitzed by cyborg gorillas or the katana wielding enemies, skipping across a stream of missiles, or any of the boss battles. It's hard to top Platinum when it comes to pure fun and hype

@Pepsiman_100 hell yeah , my point exactly , it’s no other game like it . it’s what video games are about - pure fun with a good story but most of the focus goes to exciting gameplay
