Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was very recently delayed into April, but just to remind you that the sequel still looks solid, here's nine minutes of new gameplay courtesy of IGN. The footage is taken from an early chapter of the game, where protagonist Cal crash-lands on a planet named Koboh.
The nine-minute gameplay video features chunks of exploration and plenty of combat, giving us a decent feel for how the action title's going to turn out. Naturally, it all looks very similar to Fallen Order — wonky contextual animations included — but this sequel's promising bigger, more detailed environments, additional options in battle, new force powers, and more.

Looking good, and it SEEMS like they have addressed most of my issues with the first game (combat, fast travel, map) which were all relatively minor. Looking forward to this one.
I still don't know why they didn't push the delay a further 7 days to... May 4th. What a missed opportunity. Day one purchase regardless.
Maybe my expectations are too high, but nothing about this so far screams 'current gen only' to me.
Will wait and see what else they have to show
Walking and running animations look weird.
It looks like Respawn still thinks it's better if Force bar doesn't regenerate automatically but only through damaging enemies. I feel that the first game was very stingy in this regard and more often than not I found myself wishing to use my Force powers but realizing I don't have enough juice to do so.
Hopefully there's a skill or something to regenerate Force automatically, that should make the game more fun for me.
I see no poncho, so I presume Cal is on an epic quest to find one.
Is it me, or are his arms comically long?
Has he got Rickets..Maybe The force must be strong in his colon since he runs like he has to take a giant dump..Who's in charge of this. Lolz..
Star Wars: Jedi Colonoscopy Survivor..
Yh looks fine but animations still seem stiff, and not as flowing between them as could be, not a leap in animations at least.
Im waiting for a leap in animations, ai, dynamic environments and ai, physics, interactivity.
Looks really good personally, Fallen Order was already brilliant and this looks like a shinier sequel. Plus battle droids!!!
Can not wait for this I loved and got the plat for the first and this looks even better. I’m gutted I have to wait six extra weeks for it but if they need time to fix bugs I’m more than happy to wait.
@Atreus97
This new generation is not all that it is cracked up to be. Most of the power seems to go on trying to push native 4K with 30fps and lower resolution with 60 fps. And to get all that and maybe with raytracing you can’t have extreme masses of detail, textures and level of detail and massive detailed draw distances, something has to give sometimes.
When you have been playing on PS4 Pro and Xbox one x, it doesn’t seem a massive difference overall.
Maybe in the future things will turn up a notch.
I enjoyed the last game but for some reason I very suddenly fell off it about 2/3 of the way through. Because its a skill based game tthat progressively gets harder but its balanced as you learn more enemy routines, I feel a huge barrier to pick it up again. Maybe I should just lower the difficulty untill my muscle memory for this game returns. I am curious how it ends
@TheLotteryMan1 Exactly! How could anyone look at these walking and running animation and think it looks good in any way???
Wow, nice. Great to have another SW game, this is Day 1 for me.
Never been a big Star Wars fan (either movies or games), but after recently finishing the main quest (and most others) in Horizon: Forbidden West, have to admit that this game has my attention.
@Atreus97 yeah, I absolutely loved the first game and will most likely enjoy every second of this too. But it does look almost identical to the first game.
Really need a Sith game, not everyone likes a goody two shoes.
Star wars jedi survivor gameplay is really good.word up son
He walkin' around like he got doodoo in his pants.
Skipping the video, looking forward to playing the game blind/fresh in April.
Sadly, the combat animation looks stiff af.
Looks like more of the same, which isn't a bad thing. I liked visiting a certain cold planet last time. I hope we get to go to more relevant lore planets this time such as Tython, Korriban or Dromund kaas. Nar shadaa and Hutta could be cool too. Maybe even Coruscant. Would Tatooine be mad too? Yeah, i want more familiar locations.
I loved the first one. It sort of gave me a Zelda vibe in a strange way. Maybe because of the sort of dungeon puzzles. Can't wait for the new one.
says its a pre alpha build so i'm guessing they will work on the animations a bit longer but damn I hate the voices of the imperial droids almost as annoying as jaja
For me, this looks like little has improved in terms of weight to combat impacts and animations. The visuals are slightly improved... But isn't this supposed to be current Gen only?!
However my biggest problem with the first one was the lackluster level design and a lot of copy and pasted assets for each biome, which in the fairly linear backtrack heavy sandboxes that were the environs, it really showed.
If they improve level design it may be another wait for sale and mildly enjoy it title as the last one was. At the well over half off I got it for, I was was OK with its shortcomings and overhype.
@_seneka I feel that too. Cal's walking style seems to have changed.
Are we sure it is the sequel? Looks all the same as Fallen Order to me. Even the janky animations...
@extragood looked to me like a full gold bar underneath = unlimited force skills (I imagine until you take damage) at the end of the video they spam a few abilities for no cost, unless I'm seeing it wrong.
@extragood could never really put my finger on why this game never clicked with me, but you saying that about the force meter resonated with me. All things considered though it looks good, happy for all those excited for the title.
I finished the first one 100%. I liked it, its a solid 7/10. Metroidvania levels with darksouls mechanics. But for god sake, fix the wierd animations, collisions, and physics.
@Ravix You may be right, it looked to me like the gold bar is some kind of time-based special ability (at least judging by it not increasing when damaging enemies) and the blue bar above it is the Force bar which gets replenished on each hit you do. The video shows the special ability activated towards the end, it could be some kind of bubble where your Force doesn't deplete for a time.
