Redemption Reapers is a dark fantasy strategy RPG launching on PS4 on 23rd February, and it's sure to appeal to fans of the excellent Tactics Ogre: Reborn. We got an emotive story trailer to set the scene, intermixed with some tactical turn-based action.
While the cinematic lip-syncing certainly leaves a lot to be desired, the gameplay itself looks awesome, with some stylish animation not usually found in this kind of experience. With former Fire Emblem director Masayuki Horikawa helming the project, here's hoping this bloody take on a classic formula has the legs to go the distance.

Bit melodramatic, especially with the music, but still looking forward to see how this reviews. Definitely looks like one to play with Japanese audio.
No SRPGS for 20 years and then fifty of them come at once.
This looks decent although that trailer did very little for me.
I don't think they've actually shown anything that impressive, but for some reason I really want this to be great.
@Jey887 Fire Emblem: Three Houses came out in 2019 and was a big hit, 3-4 years later we get a wave of SRPGs. The timeline fits
For some reason the story telling captured me the most? I really hope it has a good story. Looks like a banger.
It's a real shame that the lip syncing animation is so poor in the game as that could really take me out of the game. I know it could still be a good game if the gameplay and story are both good, but it's obvious that the story is an important part of the game and that could really take me out of it.
I really do hope it turns out to be good as it would be nice to have a good Fire Emblem-like game on PlayStation, but the horrible lip animations could really hurt the game. At least we won't have to wait long to find out.
As much as I'd love to give this one a go, I'm more than a little overwhelmed with the number of SRPGs I've been playing over the last year. I'm on my third one this year, actually, and still have two Advance Wars games coming up in April!
Anyway, I kinda wish this had gone for a more stylized look. I feel like this isn't big-budget enough to make the more realistic-looking characters look good during cutscenes, and the full body character portraits literally just look like something out of a mobile game.
But the gameplay does look pretty good. EXTREMELY Fire Emblem, which tracks, considering at least a few FE alumni are working on this.
