The Media Indie Exchange Showcase took place over the weekend, and we got a bunch of updates on some smaller titles that have been quietly percolating for a while now. Case in point, The Devil Within: Satgat, developed by Seoul-based studio Newcore Games.
It's quite a mouthful, but Satgat looks like a well-made and fairly demanding 2.5D action game in the vein of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, which is something which will always get out our attention.
What do you think of The Devil Within: Satgat? Let us know in the comments section below.

I thought this looked a lot like F.I.S.T. minus the furry animals.
Not a bad thing!
Looks very promising 👌
Love this! This is what 2D games should look like in 2023. Not like some pixelated retro bs
I am all for 2D experiences. Trek to Yomi let me down a bit with how it handled, so I am hoping this is more in the vein of F.I.S.T. or Bloodstained.
@misak192 To be fair, I do think games like The Messenger and Celeste are incredible experiences in both 16 bit and 8 bit designs. That doesn't include stuff like Enter the Gungeon, Dead Cells and Blasphemous to name a few. But I know it is not everyone's cup of tea.
@misak192 my thoughts exactly. It's an instant turn off, though obviously many others feel differently.
@ErrantRob I played Celeste and it was good, but only because of the gameplay, graphics definitely on the ugly side. I wish these games would look like Ori and the Will of the Wisps or F.I.S.T
This looks really good… reminds me of Shadow Complex’s art style. It’s a wonder why nobody else follows that format. I think the only other one that comes to mind at the moment is Metroid: Dread. I love the pixely art ones but there’s something really special about this kind too. There’s a fine balance between looking cheap and on the other hand, looking like it’s filled with love and care, which is the case with this one.
The second he said they designed the first main boss to feel like a fighting game I was sold lol
Bloodstained was super entertaining as well, and this does look similar at least in terms of gameplay.
