PS Plus has an overwhelming number of games available to members, particularly those subscribed to PS Plus Extra. While the catalogue grows each month, every now and then a handful of titles will reach the end of their time on the service. This month, a total of nine PS5 and PS4 games will be leaving PS Plus.
Here's the list of games:
- Danger Zone (PS4)
- Dungeons 2 (PS4)
- Ghost of a Tale (PS4)
- Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Videogame 5 (PS5, PS4)
- Override 2: Super Mech League (PS5, PS4)
- The Vanishing of Ethan Carter (PS4)
- Velocibox (PS4)
- Victor Vran: Overkill Edition (PS4)
- WWE 2K22 (PS4)
All the above games will be leaving PS Plus Extra on 21st March, 2023, with the exception of WWE 2K22, which is leaving on 14th March. If you're planning to play any of these via your subscription, you'd best get a wriggle on before they disappear. Alternatively, you can of course purchase them if you want to keep access.
While we're losing the above titles, we're soon to gain a new gaggle of games, which you can read more about through the link.
Are any of these PS Plus titles on your to-play list? Tell us in the comments section below.

Some of the most unremarkable games. I can only think of Vanishing of Ethan Carter as one of them that I have played.
If you haven't already, I highly suggest playing The Vanishing of Ethan Carter before it leaves PS Plus!
Ghost of a Tale looks interesting and I’ve come close to picking it up a few times but never pulled the trigger. Maybe Moss has scratched my “play as a rodent” itch. Good to know there’s still a little time to stick a toe in the water, though.
I considered playing Ghost of a Tale before it leaves the service - but completion seems rather annoying, with a lot of missables and challenge conditions for the whole playthrough.
Nothing I’m interested in this time.
I already played The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. Short and fun game.
Played the Vanishing of Ethan Carter and Victor Vran. Victor Vran was fun, but of course it is NO Diablo 3.
A bit of a short run for WWE 2K22, wasn’t it?
@gaia093 I recently completed Ghost of a tale and it wasn't too bad, there are a few missables but just read a guide and it won't be an issue. However you do need to avoid being hit or seen but once you get a certain item the seen aspect goes mostly out of the window. I recommend the game, if that means anything. 😂
@Quintumply Going forward, if you are going to use the phrase "PS Plus EXTRA" in the article how about including the word Extra in the title? You know, for accuracy.🤷♂️
Think of it this way, that is, the correct way. There are 3 separate subscription services for Playstation at different price points:
PS+ - pay to play online and cloud save
PS Extra - pay to play PS3 games
PS Premium - pay to play PS1 games and trials
Refer to them that way, NOT as variations of PS+. be less confusing, simple. 😁
@Excess
I was thinking the exact same thing. That said I still haven't bothered to download it and play.
It was on my list, but way down at the bottom.
I've never heard of any of these games outside WWE 2K22 lol
@rjejr ironically though, there's no such thing as "PS extra" or "PS premium" since you missed the "Plus" out of both of those names - you also missed the word "Essential" off the first tier.
You also got the tier details completely wrong! There are no PS3 games on Extra, you can only play those on Premium, since they involve game streaming (there are even some PS3 remasters in the Premium tier, because apparently them being a PS3 game originally warrants this even though the game itself is on PS4)
I really didn't go into this comment intending to pick on you this much, but after I noticed the first thing I mentioned, the inaccuracies kept piling up!
tbh I think most PS+ subscribers (of all three types) are clever enough to work out that if 9 games leaving the service is news, it's the extra/premium tiers that are affected, not the essential tier (since the essential tier typically only has 3 games per month and we know exactly how long we can claim them for).
As long as both Return to Arkham remasters ain't leaving PS Plus Premium anytime soon then we good. About time I put the Premium sub to good use
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is pretty good, and an easy platinum
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is often on sale for around $2.99 USD. The lowest it’s been is $1.99. So no biggie there, having it leave the service.
Really starting to hate that little ps plus lock symbol.
I was hoping you'd start a feature like this similar to purexbox's gamepass updates. I find it quite handy. Thank you!
Trying to finish the Ghost of a Tale platinum before it leaves but it's not looking hopeful.
@danlk1ng Not worried about "picking" always open to constructive criticism.😁
I left "Essential" off of the PS+ name b/c nobody is calling it that. See how many article titles, stories, or comments actually say PS+ Essential. Very very few. So I was just trying to make it easier on everyone.😀
And from there you may have guessed that I also then intentionally left + off of the next 2 names, b/c I thought it would make it easier on everyone to realize they aren't the same as Plus if we called them PS Extra and PS Premium w/o the + b/c PS+ Essential is the 1 and only PS+, and nobody should have to use the word Essential or the letter E, as in PS+ E, b/c Sony is stupid and it would be PS+E, PS+E, PS+P. They should have left PS+ just PS+ or PS+ Online (PS+O) since it's to pay to play online and also online cloud saves.
"9 games leaving the service is news, it's the extra/premium tiers that are affected"
I think you just made my case for me. The article twice says all 9 games are from PS Extra, but they very well could have been from PS Premium. So even if the PS+ people maybe should know it doesn't apply to them, how are the Extra & Premium payers supposed to know?🤷
Also, while PS+ does only get 3 games per month there are 20 PS4 games on PS5 for PS+ subscribers in the "Game Collection" and at first I thought the title was referring to those leaving as I think they're due to leave soon and this was a reminder article to get them while you can. So there's that. They will almost certainly write about this again in May.
https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2023/02/ps-plus-members-lose-19-games-in-may-as-sony-drops-ps-plus-collection
Thanks for squaring me away about what's in each service, I swear I'm never going to get it right.😂
Edit: tl;dr I confused 9 PS+ Extra games going away in March w/ 19 PS+ Essential games going in May, which wouldn't have happened had the title simply had the word "Extra".
Wow and I was just gonna get around to playing monster energy drink monster motocross criss cross sugar free 5 on April 1, Sony fumbles the ball again.
@pyrrhic_victory there is no platinum, is there?
@MatthewJP I stand corrected. Beat the game back in 2014 so I must've misremembered
I think the previous version of Monster Energy Supercross was once free on the old Plus, and I tried it, and it was one of the worst racing games I've ever suffered through. Unless the next iteration really fixed all that was broken, I can't imagine it's a loss anyone will care about...but I'm not about to give it a try to find out.
None I'm playing thankfully.
Related question, does anyone else lose the option to buy some games once got through Plus with "Purchased" on the store image?
I've had it happen with a couple games but not all.
@HeeHo I get the same thing!
Some games say purchased while others don't and still offer me the option to buy.
@rjejr There is nothing called PS Extra or PS Premium. Essentials, Extra and Premium are the three levels of PS Plus.
@karlhendrikse "Essentials, Extra and Premium are the three levels of PS Plus"
So you're saying there is only 1 PS+, and there are 3 levels of it, so we have all been saying it wrong, there is only:
PS+
Essential Level
Extra Level
Premium Level
B/c if that's what you're saying, you're th eonly 1 saying anything like that I've seen.
And BTW, I knew what I was typing, I was trying to simplify the process for everyone, Sony did a poor job of naming their 3 subscription services.
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is the only worthwhile game imo.
