It’s been surprisingly silent on the Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon front – which is a surprise, considering the title is focused on giant hulking robots. But a rating in Korea has raised hopes that some kind of release date information could be imminent – especially as it’s generally more common for titles to get classified when they’re close.
Obviously this is not definitive, but it does suggest that development is progressing, and it’s certainly possible we may learn more about the game soon. For those of you who haven’t been following, this is the next full-length outing from vaunted developer FromSoftware; the Armored Core series has been around for decades, but Elden Ring and Dark Souls has catapulted its Japanese developer into the mainstream, and as a result there’s a lot more attention being focused on this entry.
Where does your Armored Core 6 enthusiasm currently sit? Are you expecting a full release date soon? Bulk up in the comments section below and let us know.

Hopefully it will release in the west as well in the future
You should also mention that it was rated for 12 years and older.
I'm very excited about this!
Whilst they haven't all been brilliant, I have a lot of time for the Armoured Core series. Indeed, I'm pretty happy with anything with big mechs
This is another title I'm looking forward to and I hope we get a release date soon.
I'm interested in AC...but what I really want is ER DLC:
Shadow of the Erdtree
@GrimReaper It’s releasing on Xbox as well, so it’s almost certainly western bound.
@GamerDad66
Assassin Creed? It's all GoW over again.
I actively dislike Soulsborne, but got somewhat hooked to ER for a while. But I'm very interested in this one. I can't imagine why it's being rated already though. The way From talked about it sounded like this was going to be years away, not 2 years after ER.
I CANT WAAAAAIT!!! WRAP MY CORE IN ARMOR NOW PLEASE!!!
At this point FromSoftware should just change their name to Elden Ring Dev
This has got 7 out of 10 written all over it. I'm sure it'll be good and I say this as a huge From Software fan, but this series has always sat in the 'not quite' sphere. It's probably a good thing for them to release a good but not great game now in order to bring expectations down to earth a bit.
If they do somehow manage to work out how to make a great mech game and release yet another banger, it'll be some feat. It will also give them some room to step outside of the Soulsborne genre a bit more often, which I think is needed before it becomes tired.
Had way more fun dinking around in AC games back in the day than I ever did in the Souls deathfests. But, that was a long time ago now. Will be interested to see if you can customize the mechs as much.
@GrimReaper yeah I was thinking this might be a Japan only release. They should have mentioned that in the article!
I've been itching for a good giant mech game. The Gundam moba was ok for a week or so but not enough. Hopefully they are close to releasing.
@Max_the_German That's pretty typical for an Armored Core game. No one was expecting it to be rated M like the Souls games.
