We still get tripped up on the name from time to time, but there is one thing we are sure of: Layers of Fear is shaping up to be a graphical powerhouse on PS5, as a new Unreal Engine 5 technical showcase ably demonstrates.
Numen, an impressive new lighting system powers the lighting effects, and hardware ray tracing allows for an unsettlingly level of realism when it comes to shadows and reflections. If you'd like to see it in context, check out this recent gameplay video.
What do you think of the terrifying future offered by Unreal Engine 5? Shall we call for a temporary halt on graphical advancement within the industry while we all become accustomed to these too-spooky textures? Peak from between your fingers in the comments section below.

Only thing I'm interested in ehen it comes to Bloober and being incredibly skeptical about it is the sh2remake. I am over horror games being boring walking simulators where you do nothing but interact with objects.
Looks great for sure!
However, these on tails walking simulators where feer is artificially created via an overtly "must run from everything," protaganist is not my thing, and honestly kinda played out.
It makese sense though that a certain level of fidelity can be achieved considering the gameplay and environments being linear, tight, and hand curated into a playable carnival like horror house.
Mind you, I'm not a horror Fan in any form to be honest. So my. Mind on these titles is made up in a very biased fashion.
I was stuck at feeling that I've seen it somewhere recently and suddenly it popped up in my mind... This game has absolutely same color palette as Diablo 4 Beta ! Vomited colors, black, white, mint green, red, 100 shades of grey. π
Impressive showcase, looking forward to checking the game out in a few years for dirt cheap.
I really hope that Silent Hill 2 Remake will as good as Layers of Fears ππΌππΌππΌ
It looks fine?
Iβm confused. Is this a remake of the game Layers of Fear that came out years ago? Seems like a weird title to remake.

I am down to play it. I enjoy playing Layers of Fear at night.
Hope its not $70.
So tired of reading about how amazing UE5 games look, it doesnβt mean anything until we start actually getting the games and they start making games exclusively for this gen.
These tech demos are not running on PS5 hardware , just saying
@Arnna Yes. Specifically a "reimagining/reboot" style remake of the original game and the sequel.
